  1. Groenkloof is next to Centurion isn't it?
  2. Upgrading the wheelset on my HT 29er (Giant PXC-2 wheelset) What is a good option? Price vs Performance. Eason/Mavic/ZTR/Shimano/American Classic ?

  4. Shot! I'll visit one of your dealers.
  5. Thanks for all feedback.
  6. Hi Corrie, I also started MTB-ing after 30 (now 33). A hardtail is fine. If you have issues, make sure you get your core up to scratch.
  7. As per subject, can anyone recommend a good pack for lugging around a laptop (15.5")? Also does anyone know of a model that supports a laptop AND hydration? Or is this the holy grail?
  8. Apologies if my post was perceived to accuse the OP of promoting fraud, this was not my intention. Thanks for your insightful reply, you are correct, people currently already cheat in a number of ways BUT I think the argument can be made that people go drink coffee at the gym not for the vitality points but rather to make up the necessary gym visits to keep the benefit. rgrds
  9. I assume these files will be digitally signed? If not, what stops you from creating your own files with bogus training data? Nice way to earn some free vitality points....
  10. +5 kg so far, but.... I still have a week holiday left
  11. That pack sounds similar to the one I'm using currently. Also recently started commuting (25kms). Just do it, you won't look back. You get these wipes (like wet-wipes, but lemony fresh) you can use to wipe yourself down with.
  12. Drove past a group of about 15 cyclist the other day in Pretoria (East on Delmas road). They were occupying the _whole_ lane, not riding single file and all of them jumped a red traffic light. $%$ annoying. Oh get this, they even had the audacity to signal a truck (that had right of way) to stop while they jump the light.
  13.
  14. Thanks, going to have it checked
  15. But, if it's numb (from pinched nerves while on the saddle), will I notice if the blood supply has been constricted?
  16. Yes this happened whilst carrying a backpack, you could be onto something here
  17. My saddle is perfectly horizontal. The pain has since subsided *weird*, as long as I know my nuts aren't going to fall off I'll stand the pain.
  18. I have also been very pleased in all my dealings with them. I support them rather than buying imported products.
  19. Hi Everyone, I have started to commute to work more frequently and had a bumper training session yesterday (mountain bike). After I got of the bike this morning I had excruciating groin pain, I had no pain whilst in the saddle. Seems to be more sore when I pinch my legs together. Anyone know if cycling can cause permanent damage down under? Do I worry too much?
  20. How is the Gauteng heat wave affecting your commutes? I just can't muster the energy to get on the bike in this weather
  21. Haven't been listening to anything whilst commuting... I was under the impression that listing to music while traffic is doing 80 km/h next to you wasn't the best of ideas. I do ride MTB on the dirt shoulders though, am I overly concerned about the risks? I also believe the universe is not without a sense of irony, so if I do listen to music, bands like "As I lay dying" probably won't be on my playlist
  22. Brilliant! He sounds like the guy, I will e-mail him soonest. You don't have his mobile number by any chance? EDIT: Nevermind, found it: http://www.spokeworks.co.za/contact.html
  23. Hi There, My FOX fork (F29RL) is squeeking badly (travel is also poor) after about 6 months of light to moderate use. Any idea who in Pretoria specializes in these services? For what it's worth, the fork came standard on a Giant XTC 29er. Regards! - twiga
  24. A fellow btard? *manic laugh*
  25. I see a new Forerunner, the 910XT is coming out soon. I think that is the one I should go for, coupled with the sportstrack software mentioned in another reply. The 910XT still can't record heartrate underwater like the suunto with memory belt though. Thanks!
