  1. This is a n00b question but what kind of tires do you guys generally use for the front and rear? Front being more aggressive so to speak with a bigger tread and the rear smaller treads? I currently have Kenda small block 8's on my front and rear. One of races during the year I went over the handlebars twice going down hills. The front wheel had no traction at all and the thing just slipped out under me. Granted it was pi$$ing with rain and super muddy but I have a feeling have a mud friendly tyre may have helped. As well as having my arse further back on the saddle
  2. Forgot about that as well, already registered for the Engen one anyways. Pity though as the Michaelhouse race is pretty fun, nice single track in that race.
  3. Thread hijack, since everyone on here is Durban based what races/events are you guys doing the following weekend,25 Sept? From what I can tell there are 3 on that Sunday.. Hilton MTB dirtfest/Nissan national marathon Cycle Lab & Stihl Midmar/Notts Cycle Race TIB OMO Muddy Buddy Series 2011 - Kearsney If they were on diff weekends I wouldve done the Hilton MTB and midmar race, maybe the muddy buddy... I'll probably do the Midmar Notties race though - not many road races on the calender so I try do all of them if I can... Any thoughts?
  4. Anyone have a Garmin file for the half or full marathon showing elevation etcs? Or a google earth route file?

  15. Just bought my Garmin Edge 500 from easygis today - paid today and swung by the guy on way home from work to collect. Easy as cake. They were like maybe R50 to R100 more expensive than CRC from what I can tell (not taking into account the charges levied by the credit card on forex payments). And i dont have to wait 2 weeks or whatever to get it So I'm stoked. Sometimes local is lekker!!
  16. Not sure if other hubbers got the email but Chainreaction are offering a 10% discout on goods purchased (banner on site). Use this code when checking out "ROW10%". Limited time only apparently.

  18. Thanks for the above guys - I was gonna get the Polar RCXC800 (or whatevere it was) but now I will get the Garmin Edge 500 Same features as far as I can tell and cheaper than the Polar!!!

  21. If you still want the Olympics PM CWC online and they can make a deal for you if they have it in stock. Just ordered a pair of Olympic road shoes from them. They are not listed on the website but i sent them a pm to see if they had it in stock in the main shop and they did, and gave me a good price
