  1. Is there any major advantage to using a rizer handlebar compared to a flat one? Spotted a pimping white one on CWC and trying hard not to get the credit card out to buy it...
  2. Oh yes, and Youtube, lots of videos on there. Thats I learnt to put my back wheel on. Dumb to say but doing it the first few times is tricky. I'm weary of trying to strip my whole bike in case I can't put it together again :/
  3. I'm in the same boat to be honest, my old man bought Bicycling Magazine bike maintenance book, that's how I learnt to adjust my F and R derailleurs and do other odds and ends. That might be a start. Maybe go into a bike shop and ask them to show you? I need to take mine in for a full strip/rebuild service in a month or 2 and I'm going to ask the owner/mechanic to run through a few things with me. No harm in just going to someone and asking, and buying some stuff from them to say thanks
  4. Hope she is wearing kneepads...for the bike I mean
  5. Condolences to the Willemse family
  6. Watching the DH live was epic!!! Was a bit of a trek up the mountain though to get a good viewing spot... Will definitely go and watch all 3 events live next year And the babes
  7. I know I am a noob but will add my 2 cents. I have bought stuff from all 3 shops, CWC I was happy with the prices and service. With Buycycle I bought some Fox gloves and MTB pants when they had the Fox sale recently. They didn't have the pants in the size I ordered in stock but they ordered it and came about 3 weeks later, these things happen i guess. In the same order i cancelled a pair of gloves and they refunded my credit card for the amount. They do state on the website they ship items from multiple warehouses and in multiple packages so i guess read the fine print (to be honest i don't usually but i should) Ordered a trainer from CRC, saved R500 there compared to buying local. I guess if you want the stuff there and then buy from the LBS. If you are willing to wait then go online, in the grand scheme of things waiting a few extra days is not the end of the world, that goes with the territory..
  8. Disregard the above, items arrived today. Box is a little banged up. Good news is I only paid VAT. So all in al I saved R500 compared to buying local.
  9. Hi guys New to this forum - didn't know about it till now. Im an MTB biker from Durban. Anyways quick question - I ordered a Tacx trainer and Tacx trainer tyre from CRC. I didnt even twig about the import duties till now. ordered on the 18th and still waiting. Would I pay import duties on theses items? I assume not the tyre as it is free on the import duties list but not sure about the trainer. According to section 95.06 of the import duties list Article and equipment for general fitness and excercise - all the items are classified as free. I assume it would be under "other" in that table. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks guys
