  1. Thanks - have started looking online at seatposts. My mate at work said I should maybe try superglue?? Do you think it will work?
  2. Thanks for the advice guys - appreciate it. I will post a pic of the whole set up tonight so you can see what I am talking about. The seat has been creaking for a while so maybe it was just a matter of when it would go. Was looking on CWC at seatposts so will get a double bolter soon. Will choose 2 and ask what you guys think of them. The Giant system does seem very crude... Thanks again
  3. Nah - it's a Giant connect seat post with a single bolt. Had a squizz at the bolt and the other bit the bolt screws into and the threads look fine My road bike has the same post so will have a squizz at that tomorrow and compare to what it should look like as its relatively new. Have a feeling I may have to just get a new post :/ Thanks
  4. Hi guys Need some advice - did a race last weekend and today and on both occasions my saddle is coming loose during the ride. Prior to the race I have made sure the saddle was at the right position and angle and securely tightened. I'll be missioning along and suddenly there will be a big crack from the thing and my saddle slips so the saddle is pitched back instead if slightly forward. I will re position and tighten the thing and the same thing will happen further along. This only occurs when I hit a sharp bump and put sudden pressure on the saddle. I took the thing apart last weekend and I cannot see anything wrong with the whole set up. The "teeth" that maintains the pitch on the seat post and the other part so to speak look worn in some places but not badly IMO. I can take some pics if it will help. Do you guys have any tips or do I need to get a new seatpost I was thinking of maybe putting some cloth in there between the seatpost and the other bit(with a hole in the middle for the bolt) to give the thing a bit more grip. Thing is this only happens while out on the trail, on the stationary trainer the thing behaves itself. I should learn to keep my ar$e off the saddle for the bumpy bits but sometimes its just not possible... Does this happen to other people? To be be completely honest having a badly positioned saddle is not fun - didn't enjoy the ride this week and last weekend. Both me and my lower back thank you for any help and suggestions.
  5. I think I am going to step on peoples toes but I agree...
  6. I've never done Sani2C but I would imagine the logistics must play a big cost. Transporting all that stuff for three days as well as all the behind the scenes stuff (hiring people to set the camp sites up, cleaning, cooking etc). Just my 2c
  7. This is going to be a pretty dumb question but can someone explain to me what the below means wrt indoor trainer workouts. I have attached an example workout from the Tacx website. With regards to the gearing can someone please explain the below Small Is this small gear on the front and rear? Sm*21 Sm i gather refers to small in the front but 21 refers to the number of teeth on the rear cog (from what i understand). Do i have to count the number of teeth on each cog or am I missing something basic here I assume slope refers to the magnet level on the trainer and RPM is cadence? Does anyone have any heart rate based cycle workouts? I thought tacx would have but i guess not. Tacx_Workouts_BRR_Cycletrainers_1-12.pdf
  8. Sweet - going for a road ride tomorrow morning with a mate. Will see how we feel and maybe pull in. But riding with a legend like Burry, you got to be stupid to pass that up
  9. How safe is it?
  10. www.piratebay.org. Try cycling, spinning, CTS (carmichaels traning system), chasek. Took me ages to find the files but they are there. Google torrents with those keywords. Also search for cycling on btjunkie.org (try this link http://btjunkie.org/search?q=cycling&c=6) <- this has alot of videos. I'll see if i still have the torrent files on my laptop and try mail them to you if you want..
  11. You can torrent spinning dvds off the net. I was able to find a few CTS workouts as well as live rides. Try piratebay.org
  12. I'm not sure if it is wise idea for me to ask this publicly (admin: feel free to delete this if so) but have PI's been brought in to get to the bottom of this?
  13. Jungle justice ftw.
  14. Thanks for the tips guys - all sorted. Took it in today and 2 mins later all sorted. Running perfectly and true Going to take her for her first ride Saturday morning First road race next weekend!!!
  15. No :/ N00b mistake. I did use it on the trainer in the shop and cycled through all the gears etc, checked brakes etc. Live and learn. Thanks for the advice - will take it back tomorrow then so they can sort it out.
  16. Just checked - looks like the rim has the wobble. Will take it back tomorrow. Not a huge issue. I always get good service from the shop
  17. Hi guys Just got my new road bike today but when I got home I noticed the front wheel was not spinning true (Yes I should have checked at the shop - Doh!!) Anyways I have 2 questions 1) I had to remove the front wheel to take it home. Could I have done something wrong when I put the front wheel back on the bike? I tried taking it off and putting it on but no luck. 2) I am going to take the bike back tomorrow to the shop so they can sort it out but how much wobble is acceptable on a road bike? Since the thing is brand new I expect the wheels to be perfectly true or am I being unreasonable? But after a month or 2 of use can a bit of wobble be expected and if so how much is reasonable? On my MTB both rear and front wheel do not spin true, but due to the amount of punishment it goes through that is understandable.
  18. Good initiative dude
  19. @nathrix - I reckon you or your mate should get in touch with Carte Blanche so they can run a story on this incident and the many others listed on the Hub. With the frequency of these hijackings (as someone else pointed out) they are feeding an active market with probably some sort of syndicate involved. I'm pretty sure Carte Blanche will get to the bottom of it..
  20. Thanks But looking for a 59cm frame. I'm between 6 foot 2 and 6 foot 3 so need a large bike. Also wanting to buy in durbs

  23. Is there any major advantage to using a rizer handlebar compared to a flat one? Spotted a pimping white one on CWC and trying hard not to get the credit card out to buy it...
