  1. Thanks It doesn't need to be 800 deep, but the fixed feature next to it is 800 deep and the other side is a wall... so the space can't be used for anything else...
  2. Any advise where I can buy a good quality wardrobe?! I'm considering www.pineperfect.co.za or Tafelberg Measurements should be 2100 (H) x 800 (D) and 1000 (W) with a top shelf and underneath a clothes hanger. I'm in the Northcliff area - GP. What other places can I check out? Thanks!
  3. I also need a bell urgently! So yesterday morning on my commute I'm on the main Emmerentia bridge and see a guy with his dog coming towards me so I slow down... to my surprise this guy think it's a great idea to start his morning stretch exercises and throws his leg across the bridge... I had to take evasive action but sadly the bridge is very slippery with the morning due and my front wheel went, my handlebars got caught on the rails and my pedal slammed into my leg scraping it from top to bottom... I was in so much pain I couldn't even talk and just nodded to his apology... wheel slightly buckled and handlebars a bit skew so managed to limp to work,,,
  4. Talking about road rage... yesterday on my commute home a car overtook another car in opposite direction to me and was thus coming straight at me... so instead of hugging the pavement to the left I uncleated and stuck out my foot taking off the car's mirror... am I an asshole or is there a better way to handle this?! Traffic was bad enough so he/she couldn't chase me down and potentially kill me... In 2.5 years this is only the second mirror I took off - the first one was a car reversing the yellow lane (which I was cycling in) as traffic was bad and he wanted to reverse 1km back to the previous intersection against oncoming traffic...
  5. How technical is the 70km?! Trying to convince my wife - who only did Cradle Quest Challenge (1st women) and Sani2c (3rd mixed) - to do this one as she's a good climber.
  6. Agree, surely they can think how to make this a little more exciting than riding along a fence or patch next to a main road for 10-20 km. And a stage 2 which covers 50% of what you've done on stage 1... should be discounted by 50%. A well organised event, so not complaining too much
  7. Mud wasn't too bad... rode with the wife for Sani2c training... she managed to finish 11th overall for the 75km Challenge with a puncture... she was 20 min faster than the next lady... man doping... there was no prize money in the Challenge. She bruised plenty of ego's out there I had fun on Sunday for stage 2 (wife had a work commitment) - suffered the full 45km... finished 10th on stage 2 and 14th overall.
  8. How will the current and forecasted (tmrw) RAIN affect the route in terms of difficulty & danger... Wife's fractured ribs are healed but doesn't want to take unnecessary risks before Sani2C... Also doing Trophy.
  9. His name is Roeloff du Plessis 082 7887 421 www.pool-guard.co.za These guys came highly recommended for CT.
  10. In that case I'll buy the one with all the mistakes from you for cheap cheap
  11. After all this moaning and groaning man I'm glad my wife didn't go down! Time to stop b!tching me thinks
  12. My suggestion would be as follows: each elite lady gets (randomly) assigned to a fun rider. First lady with funrider to cross the finish wins Extreme funride world champs... It's Friday after all!
  13. Cost most likely... they played with the idea and then got told it's going to cost a bit extra so it was canned... after some convincing either they coughed up or cost was negotiated. Anyway sucks for ladies who are climbers and decided not to go down as racing with men always ends up in crashes and a sprint... I like the idea but not the late notice...
  14. And they knew half the ladies would be wiped out before the finish line! Hence some ladies are upset to race 'alone' as they now won't get back...
  15. I wonder why Racing with men reduces the chance of a bunch men / women sprint perhaps... Will all the ladies get on a bus in town and transported to Glencairn... a warmup cycle there...
  16. So my wife's team decided not to send her down as racing with men is pointless as because of her size sprinting against them (read sucking the fastest men's wheel) is not her strength... Now THIS changes everything and the race is in her favor.... What a complete fukcup! So hasn't even trained all week as she was demotivated... even if she would go down now... If you can't organise a proper race just call it a funride and get one with it
  17. Great for men's cycling... since the women will be mixed up with the men it's pretty worthless for their publicity... May the strongest wheel suckster win
  18. Such sad news! He'll be missed!
  19. A cyclocross race is a 1 hour full out effort, not quite an average Epic stage Maybe they can win the prologue! Leuk voor de Epic organisatie dat ze komen!
  20. I have 2 sets of each which works fine too
  21. I check the weather forecast regularly... so I packed mine this morning... but if it's a T-storm foretasted on a hot day I don't bother as I sweat too much then I grew up in Belgium so anything above 12 degrees is warm
  22. At a T-junction or any intersection... take a few seconds longer to make sure there are NO cars turning into T-junction while turning right and passing a line of cars stuck in traffic. On Tuesday night in the pouring rain I looked left, looked right while maintaining a bit of speed... saw no cars and hooked a right. As I did this the line of cars must have blocked my view of the car turning into the T-junction so I hit the right front bumper and rolled over the bonnet onto the ground.... The lady opened her window and chirped I should have waited... and she was right and I apologised. She drove off... clearly not worried about me nor the paint I removed from her bumper I was lucky it wasn't a van or something higher as I would have hit it head on... but perhaps I then would have spotted it Bike fine and I was fine... just hit my shin against my pedal! So off I went too... So lesson learned... Make 100 percent sure the intersection is clear even if you know the chance of a car turning into that intersection is minimal... a few seconds isn't worth the risk... First crash in 2.5 years of commuting... not too bad
  23. 1) What did it cost you in Rands to land it in RSA? 2) Is the below not an issue? There's a big drawback to the Amazon Fire TV though, and that's its exclusive use of Amazon's own marketplace for installing apps. This means that in order to install Kodi you have to perform a process known as 'side-loading'.
