  1. Hi Good morning. I picked up an Iphone 11 or 12 on the nek this morning between Cecelia and Top gate. Heading down the Nek. Its seems that it fell hard and possibly driven over. doesnt switch on. If u lost it please dm me
  2. MY biggest fear because its so hard to spot it... I take special note of cars stopping and especially once the brake lights go off as they just about to embark. The whole stretch from Camps bay until Waterfront you have to keep your wits. Closest encounter was with a fellow cyclist, who kicked his door wide open of his SUV on Camps Bay strip, before off loading his bike.... And u think to yourself... "gees u a cyclist and u just did that"
  3. This..... i fitted one like the above to my old 2014 model spark pre covid when fitting a dropper. works like a bomb. well priced and less frustration when out on the trails.
  4. Lost a bike due to bike jacking. My bike went into Langa Area. Never saw it or an advert trying to sell it. I'm convinced there is guys stripping the bike for parts and chopping up the frames. Especially high end. The frames is the most recognisable item. 90% of the parts are sold on. maybe a few bikes,10-20% are sent across borders to family members. Heard scary stories of how delivery scooters are stripped into parts and packaged and sent to Malawi and Zim.
  5. Hi. Looking for some advice please. So my eldest turned 18yrs and was kicked of my family Vitality program. He enjoyed the benefit for the discounted gym membership with Virgin active and movies. Anyone have tips on what will be the easiest and most cost effective way to get him back onto Vitality for the 2 benefits above . I don't have Medical aid with Discovery but only a Life assurance intergrater policy. TIA
  6. Hi guys, I'm looking for an Easton Echo freehub body, Shimano, for EA90 SL wheel. Agents out of stock and no idea when they will get in again. Can anybody help please...TIA
  7. I once did a ghetto tubeless conversion and just coudn't get the tyre to seal on the rim. no matter what i tried. Eventually with my tail between my legs i went to my LBS. explained to the machi what i did... few minutes later he returned with the wheels seated and sealed.... i asked him what was the magic trick.... he told me some rim/tyre combos u need an extra layer of tape....
  8. another R300. eft done. thanks.
  9. +1 for debbie @dynamicbikefit
  10. 29 maxwell street. kempton Park, i think. thats what i searched on google maps.
  11. I had a smiliar if not exact exp. Also husband and wife story and the paypal requests. Exactly the same lines as u posted above. I asked a few questions as to what camera they were going to use the camera lenses on....as they didn't even ask about condition or reason for sale. Just wanted to buy it. H even wanted me to send it via PnP aramex bag.... i just ignored him. The supplied address also showed some creepy place in GP. The best part is " i wont be accepting the parcel myself, my doorman will be" scammers on FB marketplace.
  12. been using Madaji milking cream ( from Dischem) for years now. cheap too. came recommended by the hub a while back.https://www.google.com/search?q=madaji+milking+cream+benefits&rlz=1C1ASVA_enZA753ZA753&oq=madaji+milking+cream&aqs=chrome.0.0j69i57j0.11125j0j8&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8
  13. also make sure the rim is clean properly. especially where the bead should rest. a good scrub with a brush usually does the trick.
  14. Hi i did both the otter and tsitsikamma a few years ago. used the slack pack option for Tsitsikamma. drop off each day. we were a big group. 15 persons i think. we ate like KINGS. only 6 day that i actually gained weight. both hikes was tough but manageable. I used an 80 lt bag. with a split in it. bought the Red mountain chk website( the guys that use to make Karrimor in SA). Make sure the bag has a rain cover. What we also did was use a black bag or stronger one from plastic supplier and slipped inside our backpack to make sure your belongings don't get wet. Food stuff we shared the weight across the members. Eating heavier items earlier and the noodles and biltong the last few days. We also worked out our menu well beforehand to see what we were able to carry. Braai was on day one . clothes u need to buy good quality. check capestorm first accent. light and warm etc. waterproof poncho too. we also used gaitors helped with the wet conditions so that your boots don't fill with water. i built my collection of equipment over the years. WRT river crossings take note the water level will be low and all of a sudden a big wave comes along and washes up stream. we lost a few walking sticks and gaitors this way at our very first crossing. the ranger warned us of taking any chancers with crossing the rivers. under currents are strong. they have taken a few lives already. we also used a big bag ( that our back pack could fit into when crossing rivers that were deeper. a rope will come in handy. the one river ( think storms river) we took the escape route which was tough. similar to platteklip. the rangers collected us and dropped us off at the otherside to hike till the next hut. accomodation was good. wood available, nice huts. the ups and downs of otter will get to you. but the views and scenery are well worth it. pack in some voltarens too. they help u sleep lekka. both hikes are excellent and well worth the trip. i will chk if i have the emails wrt the hike and pm u.
  15. shot will check it out. thanks

  18. Hi., seeing that this thread is about pivot bearings and bushes. can someone please shed some light on how to service/lube them on the Scott Spark 920? what type of lube etc or is it better to order a new set of bearings/bushes and replace? i bought the bike 2nd hand and recently noticed little creaks when powering thru the pedal strokes.thanks in advance.
  19. And this my friend was the winner. Thank you Sir. the levers feel and bite just awesome!!
  20. think im going to try this. maybe make the block a wee little thinner. if this doesn't work will then re bleed. thanks for all the response.
  21. only bottom to top. think maybe I should try the gravity bleed..
  22. bleed from bottom to top.... Should I do it the other way around too?
  23. Hi, i need some advice/help. I have a Scott Spark 920 2014 bike. it is fitted with SLX brakes. The problem is with the rear brakes. I have recently fitted new pads and did a bleed as per above. When pressing the lever it travels almost half way before biting. I also noticed that the pistons retract far back into the calipers. the levers feel fine. no spongy feeling. Did I: 1. not bleed them properly 2. my ghetto block too thick 3. ???? any help will be appreciated. thanks
