  1. I had a set of them R Sys. Until i was bike jacked. loved them and miss them :-(
  2. Rondebosch / East,Kenwyn,Claremont, Kenilworth are all well sought after. close to top schools and UCT. properties seldom stand empty or even take long to sell. massive demand from the joberg'ers and Durban folk. We own 3 properties in the area and get 10% increase easy. without the tennants counter offer. As for bank interest rate i got -1.95% in 2008. my banker told me not to close my access bond as i will never get this rate again.
  3. Before i had a garmin, I used Strava on my samsung. I bought a BLE( bluetooth low energy) heart rate strap, paired with my phone with no issues. It was a Runtastic Heart rate strap. I'm going to be putting it in the classifieds soon.( just saying). just make sure your mobile device has BLE feature.

  6. Hi, just to let u guys know those considering to carry a FA whilst cycling. i own a FA and the only place i think that will be safe to carry is strapped to your chest. The speed at which things happened on sunday i wouldnt of been able to use it. the thugs was on us before we could even warn each other or me even diving for the brakes. i hit the deck and rolled for a few meters. by the time i got my bearings they were more than 100/200m away with my bike. there was a road between us. So if i was still to use it i had to 1st draw my FA , compose myself, check for oncoming cars and then fire. so make it 300m the P.O.S already ran with my bike. my 2 cents.
  7. Stolen: Scott CR1 2009 When: 8 October 2017 Where: Cape Town, Western Cape knive/panga Wielding thugs attacked us ( full DC team) Get further details about the incident in the Stolen Bikes section
  8. Hi Guys. I'm one of the unlucky ones this morning that got bike jacked on Jan Smuts drive between the N2 and Epping turnoff. We were on the way to Franschoek. 12 of us. When we saw the guys they looked as if they wanted to cross the road. A few of the guys passed and then thugs drew their knives and ran into us. They caught the tail end of the group and pushed us over, grabbed 3 of our bikes and fled towards the railway lines into Langa. 2 of us hit the ground pretty hard. we both got transported to Vincent Palloti, had xray's done and was lucky enough to be discharged after about 2 hours. It could of been so much worse if they had to try and stab us or swing that massive knife/panga at us.3 of our bikes were taken. i have attached 2 pics, waiting on the 3rd. 1st bike specs : Scott CR1 custom spray job by Bogus. black on black. Mavic R-SYS wheels. Full Ultegra 11spd gruppo. Garmin 520. Look Keo pedals. Saddle bag, black carbon water cages. old yellow type Racetec chip on front wheel. Lezyne front light holder. 2nd Bike: Focus black Rotor crankset. American Classic wheels. Sram Gruppo. 3rd Bike : Bianchi ( will post more details asap)

  12. Hi i did both the otter and tsitsikamma a few years ago. used the slack pack option for Tsitsikamma. drop off each day. we were a big group. 15 persons i think. we ate like KINGS. only 6 day that i actually gained weight. both hikes was tough but manageable. I used an 80 lt bag. with a split in it. bought the Red mountain chk website( the guys that use to make Karrimor in SA). Make sure the bag has a rain cover. What we also did was use a black bag or stronger one from plastic supplier and slipped inside our backpack to make sure your belongings don't get wet. Food stuff we shared the weight across the members. Eating heavier items earlier and the noodles and biltong the last few days. We also worked out our menu well beforehand to see what we were able to carry. Braai was on day one . clothes u need to buy good quality. check capestorm first accent. light and warm etc. waterproof poncho too. we also used gaitors helped with the wet conditions so that your boots don't fill with water. i built my collection of equipment over the years. WRT river crossings take note the water level will be low and all of a sudden a big wave comes along and washes up stream. we lost a few walking sticks and gaitors this way at our very first crossing. the ranger warned us of taking any chancers with crossing the rivers. under currents are strong. they have taken a few lives already. we also used a big bag ( that our back pack could fit into when crossing rivers that were deeper. a rope will come in handy. the one river ( think storms river) we took the escape route which was tough. similar to platteklip. the rangers collected us and dropped us off at the otherside to hike till the next hut. accomodation was good. wood available, nice huts. the ups and downs of otter will get to you. but the views and scenery are well worth it. pack in some voltarens too. they help u sleep lekka. both hikes are excellent and well worth the trip. i will chk if i have the emails wrt the hike and pm u.
  13. load test only takes a few minutes. Also have the cars charge rate check. The alternator might not be charging upto spec.
  14. depending on what make u have....some batteries have a 2 year warranty... so check your receipt. think the exide sealed units carry a 2 year warranty. have the battery load tested at an electrical or battery place. this will show if one of the cells are dead.
  15. mine too. lol. thought it was my pc
  16. no spacers on crankset. Will check RD and chainring teeth. thanks. i'm sure i did lol. im 2nd guessing myself now. lol i will recheck alignment. strange thing is my old rig that i sold had the same issue just after i sold it. my buddy to whom i sold it just doesnt bother with it much as he just shifts over to the small ring and continues to climb. thanks for the responses guys.
  17. Hi, i'm a little baffled here. need some help. I recently replaced all my pivot bearings on my Spark 920. This required the removal of crankset and FD. After i replaced it, on a ride i noticed than when i'm in the middle chainring and biggest cog at the back the chain tends to slip off onto the smallest chainring. There is no chain rubbing against the FD when in this gear. It just works fine for a few rotations then slips off. All the other gears run smoothly. could it be that i need to readjust the FD limit screws and all? after all i did remove the cable from the FD. thanks
  18. hi, I did the same conversion on a Scott tho, didnt have to remove any spacers. Did u try an adjust the limit screws? is the cable tension correct when in the small blade? no play in cable?
