  1. 7.5k for a secondhand Shova...it doesn't get better than that.. Check the classifieds
  2. Spec: Doesn't really matter, it WILL be the best bike you ever ride Price: You can pick up a secondhand Zula (XC) for around R20k or a Shova (trail) for less. I believe there's one going in the classifieds right now, not sure where it is though
  3. I must have a stutter... GET A MOREWOOD
  4. Get a Morewood
  5. Thanks for all the input. I managed to test ride a couple of 29ers and the nimbleness of the 26er just works better for me. So Zula it is! I'll post a photo when it's ready for action
  6. If only we could get those Camber 29ers at the prices detailed on the US website...
  7. In the past I did a similar thing with the Pro Shop, but gawd damn this cycling bug can bite...
  8. Yeah, I'm going to use that excuse too. Nothing to do with being folically challenged
  9. With Christmas rapidly approaching, I've been thinking of a little from CF to CF gift. The problem is that I'm not sure which direction to go. Option 1 is to buy a Zula frame and move the bits and pieces from my current bike across to the Zula. In terms of the equipment, it's Fulcrum Red Metal 3 wheels, Formula brakes, Rockshox Revelation fork (might have to change this for warranty purposes), Syntace P6 carbon seatpost and stem, Fizik Wing Flex saddle, FSA headset and the rest XT. The big pro of this option is that I'll have a Morewood! Option 2 is to move to a dual sus 29er. I'll probably look at the Giant Anthem X, Scott Spark, Gary Fisher Superfly 100, Momsen Dual Link 6 and the new 2012 Cube range. Big plus is that I get to keep the Cube Stereo for more technical stuff and have the 29er for races. In terms of riding, I guess I'm a typical GP boy. Spend most of my time doing more XC type riding than trail stuff as that's what we tend to have up here. I have to admit that I haven't given a 29er a proper test drive as you don't really have many opportunities to do this, so whilst I've read all of the cool aid drinker's opinions, there's still have an element of doubt. I'm really not trying to initiate a 26er vs 29er peeing contest, just hoping for some informed opinions. Or, maybe I'm just a bike ho and trying to justify spending money.
  10. Was at Northern Farm on Sunday...trust me, they're waterproof Wish I could say the same for my gloves, helmet, pant, etc, etc
  11. Awesome, thanks Ian!
  12. Oh right, thanks bud.
  13. I'm quite interested in the 50k route the guys did at Northern Farm this weekend. Which route did you follow? Keen on trying it out this weekend

  15. Sometimes you get lucky and they don't charge the 40% duty. A friend of a friend ordered a pair of pant and a camelbak and they just charged a R15 handling fee.
  16. Can't wait for Sunday!
  17. I'm very happy with my Minnaar's, but I don't think you can go wrong either way
  18. I got them at Mike's Bikes in Greenside Jozi. My reasoning behind the 5.10's were that if you're going to ride decent flat pedals then you can just as well get the right shoes. If not, I guarantee that your foot will come off the pedal at some stage and those pins will have your shin for breakfast. R1100 for the shoes, or R1100 for the stitches.
  19. Those are my babies, even though I've never used the cleat bit.
  20. Love that quote!
  21. Just save up and buy 5.10's. They are worth every penny
  22. Do you still use tire liners?
  23. Fernando Torres
