Well the biggest problem is that my bike is in Jo'burg...and so am I. Currently it's a Trek Fuel, but if I get involved in it more, I'd definitely consider getting something more appropriate

Evening all. I'm sure someone is going to tell me to search the existing threads, but truth be told, I'm hoping that someone can save me the effort. I'm quite interested in the downhill scene although I'm pretty sure that my skills are nowhere close to scratch. How/where does one even start doing this? Even more so considering that I'm not exactly a teenager any more? All inputs (retain the right to veto that) appreciated

And how are you going about it? I am a couple of years younger, but very much in the same boat

To all those brave souls joining us tomorrow, we'll be at the M&B from around 8:45. If you see three fit, healthy, eager looking guys, that's probably not us. Look for the group containing a skinny guy, a chubby guy and a really, really, ridiculously good looking guy hanging around aimlessly, that's probably us.

How awesome is that? Off season in SA and all we have to do is wear long gloves, a warm top and a .45

Winter gear? Is that snow chains and mitts? It's the middle of winter and we're whining about 4 degrees. Hell in Africa

Realistically, considering the above, we'll probably kick off at 9.
