  1. Have a look at the GT Karakoram, pretty decent bike
  2. Only problem with the Wolverine / Weirwolf config is that you have to import them via CRC
  3. iYoh, iyoh iyoh. Love the raw look of the dually
  4. JMBC is probably the cheapest in terms of clubs @R250 per annum. Add CSA on top of that and you don't need a race license.
  5. I would like to extend our weekend Spruit rides and believe that it's possible to get to Albert's Farm. Where does it link up?
  6. Have a look at JMBC, they have various groups and do rides practically every weekend of the year.
  7. They've uploaded line drawings and geometry specs for both the dual squish and the hardtail. I like!
  8. Try all of them and then find a well priced, secondhand Morewood
  9. Ke? It took me 3 years to finish Accounting 1B, so I know nothing about calculators. That having been said, I prefer thinking of it as Buffalo's for my bike
  10. It looks okay, but my LBS has some 650B wheels arriving in the new year, so I'll try before I buy
  11. Don't joke, I'm toying with the idea of building my Zula into a 650B
  12. Agreed. The guaranteed bonus has gone the way of the 13th checque. Some companies now allow you to put away a portion of your salary every month in order for you to get a 13th. Funny money, but it seems to keep the 8-5'ers happy. When you signed the employment contract it most probably stated that you work for x per year. That's your salary, deal with it. A bonus is strictly optional.
  13. Why is this reminding me of the stage race cost thread...oh ya, people winging about money. Here's my solution: a) Work harder, become a director and enjoy the "good" life B) Tell them to shove their job and go work somewhere else Either way, be thankful that you have a job. Have a look at the unemployed hubbers thread before you complain about a bonus.
  14. Felt are also running some pretty decent specials at the moment
  15. Good time to look right now as a number of people will be getting rid of the bikes that caused their premature elimination from the 94.7. Keep an eye on the classifieds here as well as junkmail and possibly gumtree. Many a good bargain to be had. There's also a bike shop next to Cedar Square that has some very good 2nd hand bikes. They currently have a great looking Scott Speedster S20 for roughly R6k.
  16. That Transitions 29'er is sweet!
  17. Love that black monster, I have the orange version and it's bulletproof
  18. 15% faster on a Morewood
  19. I started in HH and there were two ladies that were absolutely hauling down the M1. I tried staying with them, but a group of guys from II came past at Mach 2 and whilst the ladies could keep up, my legs wanted nothing to do with it.
  20. After my first 94.7, I'm thinking of buying a road bike for the 3 or 4 events I might do in a year. I plan to spend most of my time on my MTB, so I'm not looking at spending a lot on a bike that will be hanging on the garage wall. I've found a Trek 1500 (circa 2006 or so) with full Ultegra groupset for R4k. Not knowing road bikes very well, I'd like to get some opinions on whether this is worth it for the money or should I hold onto my cash until something better comes along
  21. Where's Morewood? Shova and or Zula
  22. Ya, No, truely.
