Here's some simplification. You pay x to enter a race. If you don't like it, there's plenty that will take your place. Make sure the door doesn't hit you on the way out. The goody bag is a bonus. This is the same conversation as the stage rave thread a while back. People just love whining.

Or alternatively, if you feel the race isn't worth the money then don't enter. But don't expect the goody bag to contain a gold bar

Short answer, yes. It's your bike and you can do what you want with it. That having been said, I wouldn't go more than 120, 140 is probably going to change the geometry substantially.

I don't get this whole goody bag thing, did you enter to ride or to get stuff? Surely it'll be easier to go buy the stuff you want and ride your local trail than to enter a race and expect stuff for free.
