  1. My 2 hour ride this morning. Not sure if she's a Mondial or a 920. Always difficult with bloody Bianchi!!!!! She has an Italian BB, so almost certainly manufactured by hand in Treviglio and by the looks of things, around mid 80s. Complete mid 80s Athena groupo, other than seat post. Stem is 3T and bars are Cinelli Criterium.
  2. Search back on this thread about 3 years!!! I bought a few pairs from a shop in the UK, can't remember the name, that's why I recommend a search. Cost me £8 a pair and I think post was free.

  6. Just plug n play. No changes required. I've had mine about 2 years, haven't watched it often, but now that they have BBC WorldNews, it's on quite a lot. Otherwise use my LeelBox!!!

  9. HeyYou

    Who remembers?

I know these were early 70s. Varsity and beer, synonymous!!!! The resulting price war between Luyt Breweries and SAB almost cost me a couple of years at Varsity!!! How come I remember the beer????

Just come out of the army, waiting to go to varsity. On the way to Beira, spending the night at Xmas Pass Hotel. Walking up and down the pass with my Dad's Supersonic radio to me ear, listing to CCR. Shite, it's a long time ago.
  14. Kamaal gets them to shine better than new, just go back on this thread a little and have a look. I try to get mine the same, but somehow I don't, either I'm less patient, or just rubbish at it!!! But you might try it yourself, after learning from Kamaal. All you need is a buffing wheel and something to spin it, nothing too expensive. Then some rubbing compund, or the buffing polish panelbeaters use. Some sand paper, going from about 300 to 1200 grain. Then, elbow grease. A good way to spend an afternoon doing something constructive and not getting into any trouble.
  15. You have a Montello!! The bridges/wings on the top of the BB, are tell tale.
  16. Treviso BB
  17. Hey Kamaal, Perhaps my poor knowledge, but I thought the Treviso and Montello were completely different models! They have different BB lugs Montello http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3344/3484658272_f69830cc73.jpg?v=0 Treviso has a NORMAL BB shell and is named after the town Treviso, where Pinna's are made. Edit: The Treviso's also have a bridge across the chainstays ..... WHOOPS, JUST SEE THAT THAT IS RUBBISH All Pinna's have, or most, the name Treviso on the bottom of the BB. If I'm wrong, happy to learn something new.
  18. Two useful video's in 1 day!!! https://youtu.be/BVFON_H0PAc www.facebook.com/Latestdiscovery/videos/325270077898529/
  19. After a good few decades, I feel like I've been here before!!!
  20. I'm out of town!!! Full refund on purchase price????
  21. I have a spare EROICA BRITANNIA musette bag, somehow ended up with 2 of them. Anyone want it, for free????
  22. I also think it's early to mid 80s, I don't think they built Alpinas until the early 80s and this looks like an early one, perhaps built up with older components!
  23. As far as i know, and ive certainly never seen one, compact cranks didn't exist back when i was young!!!!! But, some cranks could fit 39 tooth chain wheels. But still tough on the old legs! But, wait, there's more!!! Racing triples were available!! I have a late 80s Campag Record racing triple and i have a Suntour Superbe triple (about mid 80s also). Look for classic triple, even better than a compact, or use a standard crank with a 30 cog.
  24. The fork is pretty unusual, 60s, maybe 70s style, it looks like you may have to search for a similar fork. But a lovely bike
  25. With Campag dropouts it's very unlikely to be a Peugeot. Is the BB English or Italian thread??? If it's English, then probably made in the UK. If it's Italian, there you are! Check the headset threading too.
