I would report it, get case number and send her a letter of demand. Getting lawyers involved will cost you more than you'll get back ... unless he/she/it is a **** hot lawyer who claims for your emotional trauma of being hit by a car, costs likely to be incurred for counselling and loss of potential earnings as you were on the brink of international stardom!!! However, the defendent's lawyer may just ask what sort of emergency you had ... there must've been one because you were cycling in the emergency lane weren't you?

Otherwise just ride on out past OR Tambo into the mielie lands behind Pomona. If you don't know the area go with Finish Line Groups.

I swapped the 100mm front on my GT Idrive for 120mm and it is much better. It is slightly more upright but the big difference is that the steering is less sharp and I find it doesn't wash out as much as before. However, I certainly don't use 120mm of travel ... infact, I use much the same as before.

I have an issue with runners in Deadfordview. They run towards me like they own the freakin road and I am the one that has to swerve out .... once while a car was tryyng to pass me. the driver hooted at me, I asked runners why they don't move over and this tosser say 'how can we move over ... the pavement is there" I told him what I thought of him and now will never offer any leeway to runners. They can all die under a bus for all I care. When they show me some respect I'll change my gloriously bad attitude!!

I can't imagine the land being used as a fuel depot. Firstly too close to residential and there is also a water problem as the bowl in the centre is really a swamp almost all year. I used to ride there often. Was even grilled by Israeli secret police type people when I came out a few years ago. Seems an EL-AL flight landed while I was riding in a 'restricted' area. Its sad that we can't get in as it is the most convenient off road area for me.

Or like Outsurance when my bike was stolen ..... they said I must prove it was locked to the carrier but the combination cable lock was missing along with the bike. Anyway, they said it was stolen from an unattended car!!!

What do you need to do to get an entry?

For me it all about cost. Nowadays an entry is R150 or so, then there's the aggro of getting a CSA licence or paying R35 each time so I'll rather just go for a wander down farm roads to Bapsfontein at my leisure and do a race if its close to home and interesting enough for me to want to do it. The venue must also have somewhere for my much loved, non-riding girlfriend to sit, read and have a cup of tea until I get back!! I'll never win a race so for me racing is all about personal goals. Nothing more, nothing less as long as I finish in the top 1/3rd of my category!!

what developers .... it ACSA land and I can't see how the entire field wwill get through one little gate. 40km is 2 laps so there'll be a huge bottleneck

I had a Bell .... saved my life when a car went through a robot and Bell's crash replacement policy saved my wallet. I will not put anything else on my head!
