How did the accident happen? If the taxi driver wasn't charged, one has to wonder who was in the wrong and its strange that none of the details have been made public yet?

I bumped my head and had severe concussion.... after nearly a month in ICU I came home and about a month later tried to ride. It was like 'Whhhhat the faaaark, where are my training wheels??' but a few weeks later I'd worked out how to ride. My point; any bump, illness etc can affect your balance.

I was hijacked and believe me if I had tried to use pepper spray site I 3would be dead now. It is useless unless it is actually in your hand, you have an escape route .... and you know what they are going to do. It happens too fast to fumble for something. I rode past someone and they grabbed me.... must I pepper spray everyone before I ride past them?

I haven't been next to the Bapsfontein railway for ages. I stick to the Dunblane-Broodblik route using Benoni A/H as the outward or homeward leg. Also haven't been near the Engen for at least a year which is a pity coz it was a nice route. There are also railway tracks in that area so I'm confused as to which railway is dodgy?

I would like to congratulate the 'Peaceforce Security' group riding west down Beaconsfield rd, Primrose at 10am this morning. You are clearcut winners of the '2012 Dick Brains of Cycling' award. Your pig-headed security guard arrogance in riding three abreast and holding up traffic really endeared car, taxi and truck drivers to cycling and your behaviour is what makes life difficult for cyclists of all types. I suspect myself, and a number of other road users might find it difficult to give a Peaceforce Security vehicle a break in traffic!! A BIG THANK YOU .....chops!!!!

..... be even more carefull of voiding the warranty by having the wiring fiddled with at towbar centres. Agents only!!!

any powered vehicle on the roads must be roadworthy .... as must any drawn vehicle i.e trailer. There are exceptions like mobility scooters/wheelchairs etc. Essentially if it is on the road it has to be SABS approved and on the eNatis system. In other words... a self propelled bicycle would be deemed to be a powered vehicle and therefore the operator and vehicle will need licences!!

Seen too many bikes ripped off the roof going under carports etc.... yup it happens!!

cheapest solution is to get a ball mounted bike rack ...I have a Thule Express but no car at the moment so your problem is less expensive than mine!!!!

Today I was riding round the back of Pomona and saw that some quad riders have really stuffed up a nice piece of jeep track by doing donuts and wheelspining in the mud after the recent rains ..... I hate quad riders. They must be the most retarded form of life!!

Why should we have to put up with sub-standard service. If I treated my clients the same I would be out of business. No sir, I make sure my clients get what they've asked for. Please let me know what line of business you're in so I can avoid risking shoddy service!!

I liked the Down & Dirty route, it was the event that pissed me off. The rocky downhills were cool and there was more single track than I expected. Manbearpig knows the VG hiils like the back of his hand so believe him when he says he knows all the shortcuts coz he actually built the Magalies range by accident when he threw a huge rock out his cot billions of years ago ... let him take short cuts, just don't piss him off!!

My ride time on my Polar was 2:31 my official time 3:06......I honestly never finish that far back in the results. I rode had and thought I would have been around 300th in a field of 1000 so the results are a lot of crock. From where I was waiting in the bottleneck I saw tons of riders going straight past the turn off. When we rejoined the tar there were as many riders coming along the tar from the left as there were coming off the jeep track. What makes someone who knows he has cheated go through the finish?

The total lack of respect at all the bottlenecks by people just walking or riding to the front is one of the reasons I do not do races known for bottlenecks. Anyone know where we find results for this farce?

my wife hates my cycling .... so I take my girlfriend to races!!!

....and the pricks who ride past the queue at a bottleneck then push in at the front. Total b/s that riders used the tar road!!!!! My total time was 3:06 and ride time only 2:31. Also have never been to a race where I've had to queue to get through the finish ...... I gave my medal back in disgust!!!

I thought it was a great event and I particulary liked the co-operation between the two clubs (Evildale & Kemptune Pork). Venue was well organised, route well marked but the best was that it was on my doorstep....... so few events here in the east!!
