  1. Got it at the expo at the Cape Union Mart for R5999
  2. Was hoping for somewhere in Cape Town. Maybe the expo tomorrow
  3. I am also looking for the Edge 810 performance bundle, if anyone has a good source
  4. Who is Regin?
  5. The way you ride and the amount of times you ride, i wouldn't bother
  6. Nicely done, as Leet said game on
  7. The fat arse in front of you was tired, and i still claim that the stump jumped out at me. and PoS thats a nice time, would like to see how you do it, give me something to aim at.
  8. Was hot today, did some of the tracks a couple of times. We (Leet) managed to improve our times on downhill 2, i have had a 24 sec last year, but that was when the trail was better. Did a 30sec today which felt quite good, but i am sure i can knock a few seconds off that as i relearn the trail. My roots was a disaster today, first run i aborted just before the jump, thought i had a flat, i was wrong. 2nd attempt decided to try the jump for the first time, came in skew and made it but almost didnt make the berm. Then on the sharp left and down at the tree, i got confused when a tree stump i dont remember being there jumped into the middle of the trail, went the high side of it and ended falling of the side of the trail on the exit, still made a 50 sec. So i reckon we should be able to get it into the high 30's with a bit more practise. Good day's riding, but damn someone needs to switch the aircon on up there
  9. What's a good time for this section, we did a mid 40's in that video, how does that compare?
  10. mmmmm you didnt ask permission to show my fat belly
  11. Will be the other old fart on a blue reign with slightly less of a stomach and not a fox flux helmet
  12. You need to get a MTB permit at R200, unfortunately this has to be attached to a card. The cheapest option is the Cape Green card at R80, this gives you 12 visits to one of their areas. However you can use it for MTB as many times as you like, ie its valid for a whole year at Tokai for MTB. So total cost for a year is R280 You need to take 4 id photos Copy of ID or Drivers Proof of residence
  13. To answer the original question,  I haven't yet found anywhere that matches the variety of riding that can be had at Tokai. the only downside for me is the cutting of all the trees as i am like an old car, i overheat very quickly. Give me -5C and im happy, upwards of 25C and i start to suffer so the genocide with the trees really gets me
  14. Don't worry Leet, you know you always push yourself harder when you have an audience. Not too much though, i am not carrying you down the mountain
  15. Want to know why exhibitors always try to make a profit at these exhibitions, what happened to giving good deals to build loyalty as is done overseas. Went to the holdfast stand and wanted to buy a bike rack, the 3 bike one was R2795, i ask the guy if they have any show specials and get told its the same price as normal and he refused to even budge on the price. So he lost out on a sale, i will probably get one from Evans or CRC, hell if he had offerec me 10% i would have taken it.
  16. I've had good service from CWC online and unfortunately currently also bad service. Did i bother complaining, nope i just added a few more items to my CRC order. The correct thing to do was probably do as the OP did and bring it out in the open. If more of us would do this then we might even get to up the service levels in the industry. What i find amazing is the number of people trying to justify the bad service and even worse to lay the blame on the OP. It doesn't matter how good the service is usually, its the one time it goes wrong that will be the most important. Its how you as a business deal with this that will define you not the rants and raves of people on this forum. What the post has done though is highlight to CWC where there is a problem in their service and gives them the opportunity to fix it. So all i can say is well done to the OP, and to a decent response from CWC. What would make this thread totally worthwhile though is if CWC had to reply showing that they have tightened up procedures and learned from the experience.
  17. I also have a reign, and would agree with the above comments. Had an older reign that i basically donated to a friend and just upgraded to a new one. Both bikes are excellent, i am not the greatest climber (getting better as the weight comes off) and i'm having no problems with doing 28km at Tokai, and when you point the bike down its just pure fun
  18. Only way i'll stop buying from CRC is if the local industry catches a wake up call. Unfortunately it seems to be a South African Business ethic to rip the customer off for as much as possible
  19. I'm also one of the slightly older riders, the nice thing about being older is that everything seems so much more exciting than when i was younger. e.g a 3 foot jump seems huge and really gives me a kick when i make it, whereas when i was younger that would have been nothing. So for me there are advantages to being older along with the fact that now i can afford better equipment.
  20. Good news for a change, just drove past a bakkie and a bunch of workers clearing the thorns up. The bakkie was totally full with all the plants. Looked like the guys were doing a pretty good job. Would have to get a close up look to be sure. This was opposite Milnerton High School
  21. The guy obviously knew he was in the wrong, otherwise he wouldn't have acted like an immature imbecile. How hard is it to comport oneself with a bit of dignity?
  22. Brooks for the win!
  23. Too loosen turn spanner in direction of back wheel, to tighten, turn to front wheel, works for both sides
  24. So it seems like this tax thing is a bit of a hit and miss affair.
