  1. You will have to pedal pretty hard as I clock over 40km/h on a regular basis and I am not the lightest chap around. Actually it is a good training idea
  2. Some people say that a horse can "read" you from a distance, whether you are scared, what mood you are etc. I don't know how true that is, but they are amazing animals. But just like a dog they can sense your mood when you are working with them.On our Saturday ride last weekend, my horse got spooked by some people with cattle and a dog and for the next 10 minutes or so he was in flight mode. At least I was able to control him as we were on a path that was dangerous to go fast for the horse and rider. Frisian horses have eyes that look like they can see into your soul, especially if they pull up their neck and look down at you
  3. Horse riding is really relaxing and calming and helps a lot to clear your mind of all sorts of rubbish. The only potential danger is that a horse might get a fright if a cyclist suddenly crosses its path, so hats off to you for being patient.
  4. I also find it easier to use a slightly heavier gear rather than spinning into a head wind.
  5. I have been reviewing different brands, but then I wonder how good they will be in comparison to the 4000s; I have been using them for many years and have absolutely no reason to use another brand. I am really happy with the contis
  6. Take the wheels to your LBS first. Maybe they just need to be trued
  7. So, according to wind tunnel testing and actual on road reviews, wider rims are more stable in windy conditions than the traditional V shaped rim. Now my question to those who have ridden both: how much more stable are the wider rims compared to the traditional V shaped rims? Is there a real noticeable difference?
  8. Was there not another incident like this a week or two ago?
  9. Just had a carrot and banana. At least I will smell better
  10. What's for lunch, I am hungry
  11. I have suffered a lot in races as well, so much that sometimes you feel like you want to stop cycling
  12. Give the man a break. It takes a lot of courage to enter a cycle race when you are unfit, a bit over weight and getting on in years. Hats off to him
  13. Dips, did not think that you were such a big LA fan?
  14. Thank you very much for the info. I hear what you are saying. It seems that more and more people promote natural foods and eating habits as how many of our forefathers ate. This all goes against what medicine has been preaching for many years and what seems to be right way. As for my cholesterol, my LDL is slightly above normal, but not so much that my GP is worried. All he said is to abstain from fatty foods including fat found in meat, and to keep on exercising. I am turning 43 this year, so it is the sensible thing to try and stay healthy and fit. The only problem for me with a LCHF diet is that my cannot handle anything fatty(meat) as it makes her want to puke, but I am sure that we maybe could find a compromise somehow with bringing foods like sardines etc into our diet
  15. Have not read the whole thread, but is there a health benefit for cholesterol levels on the LCHF diet? My GP told me this morning to watch out for fat in meat.
  16. That's not riding but flying
  17. Careful that you don't start loving your material things

So Polar has released a new cycling specific Gps computer shortly after the V800. Looks very nice. Recommended price is 253 dollars. Should be available from April(hopefully).
  19. You can always get another litter
  20. This is absolutely shocking. Strongs to the two victims and their families, and a speedy recovery, physically and emotionally
  21. probably out riding and enjoying his new bike. Would also like to see some pics
  22. A pic for you TW
  23. needs better wheels though
  24. My parcel left Los Angeles on the 17th January and arrived in my post box today, 24th, so not to bad. Paid no duties at all. No tracking no was issued locally, so it was not possible to track it locally.
