  1. I have read similar from the forums i am on. Not sure how true. That being said it does differ from company to company but pretty scary all the same.
  2. It's interesting you say that. I have been looking at the USA as a Plan C should things not go well. Most companies don't pay maternity leave. In fact, most people only get 7-10 days of annual leave. Anything over that is unpaid. Also, their labour practice is such that should you go on maternity leave your job is not guaranteed when you decide to return. Also, leave not taken is not paid out.
  3. Was one of the reasons i came back. Told the wife that if we are going to get divorced i am coming back because i couldn't afford to live there as a single person.

  5. Hi. Not sure if this is the correct thread but the title sounded correct. Mods please move if incorrect. A friend of mine has a vintage bike and is wanting to sell it. Thought i would post on here for ideas on price as i have no clue before posting in the classifieds. Any assistance is appreciated.
  6. I love to support local. But sometimes it just doesnt make sense. I bought myself 2 pairs of the Look X Track pedals long before they were even available here. I needed to replace my pedals as my current ones at the time were shot. I wanted the X Track. Nobody in SA could get them for me. Not even Mr Look. Ordered from ciclimattio and with shipping etc it worked out considerably cheaper at the time that when they were available here.
  7. if i recall it was about 2 weeks. i did pay for shipping to avoid the SA post system
  8. Plus the thing weighs a ton!

  10. Now thats pushing it!!! Just kidding
  11. Just the thought of all the mud and wet towels etc is making me apprehensive.
  12. Honestly....... No. I find him arrogant. BUT he is a phenomenal athlete and i have to give him kudos for that!
  13. we went up it last year and the year before.
  14. wait a couple of weeks and re test.
  15. Looks like those first 3 days are going to be a mud fest. Heidelberg, Reitz and Frankfort have rain predicted for the next 3 days according to the app on my phone.
  16. was reading somewhere that we dont go up Spionkop anymore.
  17. I now have a Gen 4 Kickr and love it (gave my gen 1 to a mate). Yes, there were issues with previous batches that were made and i was one of the who had theirs replaced 3 times. That being said you cannot fault the after-sales service of the guys at Ikhambi. Within a few days of me reporting my issue, I had a new unit and on one occasion they even came to my house to carry out a fix. The Kickr 4 is much quieter than previous models. In fact, i am now looking at replacing the pulleys on my derailer as my drive train makes more noise than the Kickr does. IN my opinion you cant go wrong with the Kickr.
  18. It was the one thing that blew my mind while i stayed there. Whilst i enjoyed the fact that the council was approachable etc. I found that they would dictate to our clients what they could and couldn't do on their buildings to the point where they would determine finishes etc to a building.
  19. Dont give everything on day 1 like i did. It is not timed per se and going flat out will cost you in days to come!
  20. On your point above i did consider a 2nd Pm on my bike but it kinda goes against spending all the money on a smart trainer. Whilst i agree an IDT will never read the same one would think that with proper calibration etc they would be similar if not a few minor % out.
  21. Maybe we should swop?
  22. I would also like to do this exercise. I ride with a power meter on all my bikes and the Kickr feels by far MUCH harder.
  23. Just managed to get an entry. Woohoo!
  24. You looking to exchange NZ$ for ZAR?
  25. Then I would be a knob too! I did pass him though never to be seen again.
