  1. I`m in lets do a monster jonkers ride to cure all mtb blues.
  2. A jonkers ride is guaranteed to sort out this issue.
  3. Karma is capable of destroying any tyre.
  4. The standard American Classic 29 Tubeless wheelset weighs 1600g, the same as a Stans Crest Wheelset, but stronger. They are also much cheaper than the American Classic Race version.
  5. When braking for the corner, use both brakes, as you start to turn let go completely of the front brake. The rear brake can still be used if required to slide the back into place, and to lightly brake in the corner.
  6. In a road with no yellow shoulder this will mean all traffic will be backed up behind the cyclist cause it will be impossible to pass in traffic.
  7. Yes Scotch is good.
  8. This is what makes the Giant the better bike. Shock Fox FLOAT CTD Evolution
  9. Not Scott.
  10. I ride a Fox RP23 but I would rather have a RockShox Monarch RT3 which I think is the better shock but also a bit cheaper.
  11. Evens is riding for FedGroup-Itec on a Scott, not for Scott. I would have liked to see Sauser paired with Max Knox since Max is also a Specialized rider.
  12. It`s because mtb is just so much more fun.
  13. There are many mtb events in the Western Cape that require a CSA licence. ArgusMTB, Die Burger, and almost all Amarider events. So the R75 annual licence is the better option for me, I will definitely do more than 3 CSA required events. .
  14. Ride more mtb off road. I made the change from being a roadie to a mtbiker.
  15. I ride the lighter Race version and I`m very happy. At 71kg you are well withing the weight limit for the Race version.
  16. Look at the 2013 Silverback Sprada, I think this might be a better bike than the Mercury.
  17. Been doing this but I fail to see how this will significantly change the dominant culture of every man for himself amongst most people.
  18. Change should in fact start at the top since that is where the example is set - The Blue Light Brigade - every man for himself!
  19. [sarcasm] Ye, everybody who has ever drivin a car in the world killed Burry. Anyone who has been a passenger in a car killed Burry. And I thought a taxi killed Burry. [/sarcasm] Lets not kid ourselves, the taxi driver broke a basic traffic rule that directly resulted in the accident.
  20. I was a taxi driver for 2 years and there is a lot of pressure be as fast as possible. Sitting in traffic cost you money. Being patient cost you money. Most taxis will not adhere to any campaigns to "change the attitude" because it will cost them money. We need radical change else I fear the roads will not become safer at all.
  21. At what times and how many times per week are you available for riding?
  22. I wonder if there was a long row of cars on Burry`s side. Since Burry was coming down a hill, and the way that Burry`s side of the road was a bit higher banked, it seems on google streetview, that from the taxi`s point of view he should have been clearly visible, unless traffic obscured the view.
  23. If you look at the scrapings on the taxi there are scrape marks from the front of the bumper, onto the wheel, and continuing behind the wheel. Burry was flung into Marine Drive, towards his right. This implies that Burry did not hit the taxi square on, but hit the corner of the taxi as it was turning into Stott str.
  24. Knowing what exactly happened is normally necessary to come to grips with the grief. I want to know as much as possible about the accident and the injuries.
  25. I am not convinced that this is a realistic way to make the roads safer. I can not see motorists waiting behind a cyclist to pass them with 1.5m to spare. Most motorists will ignore the 1.5m law, especially on roads with no yellow line shoulder. I think only dedicated cycle lanes will make a significant difference.
