  1. Looking for more speed. Don't like climbing but I am currently working hard in that department. So racey and stiff. Looking to race with the vets again in 2015. Like the aero shape and the smaller rear stays compare to the more traditional frame.
  2. The only problem with that bike is in CT - Western Cape. Difficult to organize a test drive.
  3. In your opinion is it worth going the aero route? Not really bothered about the weight.
  4. I buying a new road bike (may be used) in less 3 months time so I started with my research. Currently I am looking into Specialized Venge Expert Ultegra but don't have too much info on Roubiax or Tarmac. Also looking into Trigon. I like the look of the Aero frames and we don't have huge mountains to climb in races as well. Also like the Fondriest range as well. Any other suggestion on bikes that are worth looking at? If I go used or experience bikes I will have to look at upgrading the wheels to Zipp or carbon deep section clinchers. Any advice and also would like to test drive the bike before buying so looking for shop in JHB or MPU area that will let me test. Size 56 cm
  5. Yes but the air makes it difficult to breathe
  6. Big crash in AL as well. Friend has some damage to his back. Have to go back to the hospital tomorrow.
  7. Nice relaxed ride in BL. Things got hairy the last 3km so i decided not to sprint and finish with my bike and i intact. Pace was a bit slow during the 1st 40km and the last 20km.
  8. Can someone tell me what is the accent\climbing of the race?
  9. I got seeded in BL. SO Ride 4 sight EL and Carnival BL.
  10. The guys in E did not work together so everybody sat up. As soon as some would break away they got caught. Finally after turning left at about 43km we managed a break away of about 8 riders I think. Managed a 3.17 but the last 20km finished riding with 2 tendams. Wind was to crazy to try and sneak away but went with a CL rider and a BL. Made a charge for the line with 1km to go. Very nice coming down Suikerbosrand and not seeing huge groups. Thumps up for small bunches. Just need to get the seeding right.
  11. I am not part of the organisers. Just thought I would share the reply I got from them. How can they have more entries that the 94.7 to push me to E? I am going to visit the reseeding at number collection and hopefully the will get it right.

  13. Hi hubbers some feedback regarding the seeding. It is not a seeding but a group placement. Our groups are smaller than the 94.7 according to CSA rules. You can check your seeding at registration but it depends on how many people entered with a better seeding than you. For example we only have 65 racing tandems so the other are complaining, The group sizes are kept small to ensure a safer ride.
  14. Looks like I will be taken out the Aero wheels. Seeing it will be a long TT for me. Last year was seeded in C and did a 3.11 Can we contact some one for a reseed?
  15. Got mine as well. EL =WTF?
  16. Just pop some supplements and help a hubber out
  17. Number pickups start on Thursday. Number Collection: Cycle Lab, Centurion; Thursday 13 February 2014, from 09:00 – 17:00 OR Cycle Lab Fourways; Friday 14 February 2014, from 09:00 – 17:00 OR Tour de Frans Cycles; Saturday 15 February 2014, from 09:00 – 14:00
  18. I think we should get it by tomorrow at the latest but I am also impatient.
  19. You are missing my point. I want to have communication with the seller and I can't. Wheel was send to the lbs and apparently the wheel hit a pothole and is opening up at one point.
  20. Entered. Lets hope I get a good seeding.
  21. I did that but you can only see it if the wheel fitted on the bike. I don't mind a few chips here and there but the hubber doesn't reply. Makes me wonder what is actually the problem.
  22. To replace a rim is R1600 and paying 70% of a new set isn't a good deal. It is a no deal at all.
  23. The EA90 SLX rim was bend and I had to replace them at R1600 (wheel was send to Omnico) for my account. My local LBS tried to true the SLX and said al was find but LBS won't cover a new rim. I asked him if he would cover the courier cost. If the rim needs to be replace we must talk but can't get a reply from him. If I knew I had to pay another R1600 I would not take the wheel set. I agree but buying a new wheel set and replacing a rim is like buy a bike and replacing the frame.
