  2. Hi I must decided between the above mtb. The Axis is a 26er with some Deore derailers and the Oryx has Alivio and is a 29er. Both have the same Hydraulic brakes. Bike will be use mainly with family but will take it out on weekdays just to break away from the road training and I might do a race now or then but mtb won't be my main focus. Both bikes cost the same.
  3. I use my IDT (Tacx I-Flow) trainer. My training is based on power rather than HR.
  4. Hi I am will be Polokwane\ Pietersburg\Legends Golf resort for a 4 day conference. Looking for a riding partner for road cycling or group rides. Thanks
  5. I have no problems with outsurance from wheels that got damaged on training rides to complete bikes. Best turn around time was 6 hours and worst was 48.
  6. I am booked for a 4 day conference at Legends golf resort at the end of August. Looking to take MTB with. Is there any hubbers living close or near legends and is worth taking MTB with to ride trials?
  7. You can good used carbon bike with same or better components and will have some extra cash for deep section carbon wheels.
  8. I read that cyclist get about 800miles on a pair of Force Attack combo. which is good for a year to year of a half racing which is ok if there is really a advantage over the Gp4000 and open corsa tires and the combo cost less.
  9. I saw that Open Corse range is almost or equal to the Gp4000s tires but can you give your experience with these tirs?
  10. Does anybody have info on Attack Force combo? Can't find any info on rolling resistance on thesw tires or test done.
  11. I need to kit my carbon deep section wheels out with tires. I did some research and have narrowed my choices down to the following. These will only be used for racing not training. GP4000S GP4000S2 Conti Force Attack combo Ultremo ZX I have used GP4000 and Ultremo ZX and I can't fault the 2 but Ultremo was lighter and require less effort for high speed according to the web. Does anybody else have other information I shiuld consider or information?
  12. Here is a updated photo with new race wheels.
  13. I have 1 for you. brand new unused. pm me
  14. I know there is a group ride every morning at 5.00 starting at the Engen garage. Don't know about mtb groups.
  15. IDT will help but try to get one that has a power meter and a coach to give you a power base training program. you will achieve more in less time. quality vs quantity If money is a bit tight get one based on your HR.
  16. Also the classifieds have alot more carbon tubbies than clinchers as well and cheaper but yes I know tubbies are more expensive but do you really go through a pair that often?
  17. Don't know how much faster but there is a big difference between stock wheels and carbon wheels in weight and ride or power transfers. When racing with vets every little bits help.
  18. I know this topic has been discuss but I don"t know what my next wheels should be? Looking for a set for my new Venge so don"t know if I should go for tubbies or clinchers. If I go clinchers I am looking at dark horse or a pair of used Zipps. Wheels will be used only for racing. I raced with the vets 2 or 3 years ago and looking to go back next year. I saw you get a tape with glue so that you can repair -tubbies or replace on the road. I am not bothered about weight because I am currently loosing between 600-800 grams a week. Just another 9 kg to go. Thanks

Full road closure? Did this race about 6 years ago when it was Joburg toughest race. 116km of pure torture. I am considering doing it this year but agree a bit pricey
