Hi Looking to buy my 1st mtb just something to play around with. I am a roadie so mtb will be used for fun with my daughter (7months old) while wife is running and may be a casual race or 2. There is a 2010 Merida XC 100 for sale,Sale include 1x Merida helmet , cat eye speedo , 2x road tyres with tubes , saddle bag ,2 water bottle cages For R3000 but Solomons have a new Trek for R2495. Should I go new or used?

I hope you are using the right tyres. Road tyres don't last more than 200km on trainers

Cleaning the bike and came across this white patch on the top of the bb. It feels if there is carbon missing. Is this normal or should I take it back to the shop? The frame is only 4 months old and its a Merida Scultura Evo 904.

They puncture more easily than Gatorskins but keep in mind they have less rolling resistance and weigh less. Use mine every weekend and only had 2 punctures. The last ride with gators I had 4 in 8km. You just had a bad day. I check my tyre pressure every 2 weeks and I weigh 96kg.

After 12 months of use my roller started making a knocking noise. It sounds better after greasing the bearings. Must I replace the bearings or complete drum? How much does it cost to replace bearings or drum and where can I get the parts.

@Scooterza I agree with you. The guys will moan if you don't take turns or they will attack and you will drop off. If the guy wants to pull and don't want any help it is his problem. Saw some very dangerous guttering in some vets classes where oncoming traffic had to pull off the road.

Nobody likes wheel suckers. Its not your personal best if you wheel suck, almost like the guys I saw sitting behind a panel van doing motor pacing. It look way more easier but it is not my best but the car or other cyclist best time combined
