  1. Currently I have a Merida Scultura 904 with EA70 wheels and a standard Raleigh RC1000 and spare Mavic Ksyriums Elite and Mavic CPX 22 wheels. I do lot of roller training during the winter. Is it better to have a spare bike or spare wheels. Current wife is complaining about 2 bikes and 2 sets of spare wheels.
  2. Thanks for the feedback. Decided on the EA70 to use as my race wheel and my Ksyriums Elite (3000km on more or less) as training wheels depends on how the Eastons perform this weekend.
  3. Just to add, as some prices their price was even lower.
  4. Thanks to Marc at Olympic Cycles for his help to buy new wheels via telephone. They were more than willing to equal other bike shops prices which was nice for a change and speedy feedback. Let's hope their courier doesn't let meus down and deliver my new wheels on Friday ready for testing.
  5. Easton are low on stock. They only have the EA70 or EA90SLX (2009) but for R2000 more.
  6. Hi guys I need a pair of racing wheels and must decided between the Easton EA70 and Dura Ace WH 7850. Please help me deicede. Thanks
  7. Orders above R500 = free shipping if you choose the postal route 2-5 days delivery. If you want your parcel courier to you, you must pay. I made the same mistake once.
  8. Hi Unfortunately I have to cancell the ride at SBR tomorrow due to work. Hopefully I will be able do join you at the next ride.
  9. If it doesn't rain I will be there. I try and be there at 7:00am
  10. I have 2 Camelbak podium chill bottles I use. No need to freeze your drink before and it doesn't get warm even after a 3-4 hour ride. It is not cheap but worth every cent I think. Like the jet valve system as well. no spills
  11. Thanks, what time and how cold is it that time of the morning?
  12. This will be my 1st time at SBR. Where is the entrace? Driving on the N17 and turning left at Nigel then Heidelberg or is there a better routeentrace for me?
  13. Yes Sand road encountered after 3.6 km for 900m duration and again at the 106 km mark with 4 km remaining. No need to dismount at all – easily rideable at high speed but follow your own line – some Paris Roubaix experience.
  14. So far I only had 2 punctures while training but not in a race (touch wood). Looking for a good puncture resistance tyre with less rolling resistance.
  15. Looking for a new all rounder tyre. I have 2 sets of wheels one is used on my roller and the other set is used for racing and I will it take out now and again on the road. Currently I have gatorskin tyres but if you get a puncture it takes a while to change a tube and in a race I don't ride with a spare tube. I might start to. 1st race is the race for victory and there is 2x 900m section of dirt road to keep in mind. Thanks for the input.
  16. Hi Jack on What do you guys think of the Michelin Krylion Carbon tyre to replace my Gatorskin tyres? Hi Jack off
  17. The Galaxcia is a newer version of the Anteres rollers. Only looks nicer.
  18. It differs from person to person and everybody has a brand. My 1st 2 HRM was Polar and switched to Garmin for the past 3 years. I prefer Garmin beacause it has built in GPS and I have a speedcadence sensor for when I train indoors.
  19. I watch tv during this time and the intervals help to keep the boredom away.
  20. I do 3 - 5 sessions a week. 10 min warmup, keep the heart rate between 130 - 150 cad >80 do repeats (9 repeats) of the following until I get to 1:20, 3 min with HR 150 -165 cad >90 1 min HR 165 - 180 cad >100 30 sec HR >180 cad >100 30 sec HR > 180 cad >100. My recovery is the 1st step of 3 min HR 150 - 165. 10 min cool down HR 120 - 145 cad 85 WIll this be enough to keep my fitness during the winter?
  21. Hi hubbers Is there any advantages using integrated handlebars over the traditional bars and stem and are they more comfortable? Thanks
  22. I also bought rollers for the winter. Setup the spare TV in front to catch up with the cycling and I also do some intervals. The boredoms doesn't sit in only a sore a$$. 1 piece of advice, get some indoor trainingrollers tyres. Normal road tyres are noisy and doesn't last long.
  23. Touch wood, I haven't had a puncture yet I have Gatorskins. Do you get the same type of tyre for tubbies?
  24. Can you suggest what wheels?
