  1. Hi Hubbers Looking on what to upgrade next on my road bike. Currently I have a 2012 Merida Scultura Evo 904 (Carbon frmae, Shimano 105) and I have upgraded the wheels to Mavic Ksyriums Elite and saddle Selle Italia SLR Flow. What should I upgrade to and what? Wheels (Easton\Mavic\carbon\) or crankset (SRAM\FSA\Carbon) Budget not more than R10 000 and parts can be used. Thanks
  2. It took me 30 minutes to learn to ride on the rollers. Its easy after about 2 hours. Just start in the hall way where you have 2 walls for support.
  3. Hi hubbers I still do my spinning and orbitrek during the week but its a bit cold for the morning rides. Will still do my hill repeats once a week. How much or long must you ride on your roller to keep your current fitness? Thanks
  4. My first Amashova was last year. I studied the route profile but the race I did was nothing like it. It felt that I was only climbing for the 1st 36km and that people was lying saying its downhil to Durban. Very nice race and well organise unfortunately I am not doing the race this year but next year I am back. Like the option of them courier your number to you as well Enjoy

  6. Hi Currently they have a new drink (called Vitagro Blast better than gels) that I used. I make it in 500ml bottle and drink half before the race and the rest 15km from the end. Taste alot better than the gels. PM me if you want some.
  7. I eat oats (just add water kind) before the I ride. After 80km I found that my legs give in but I am tired. I take a sip of my energy drink (Whasp) every 10 min to ensure I don't dehydrate. Training rides I eat Jungle oats bars but in races I use powerbar energy. Try eating something before a race your body needs it
  8. Is it worth spending the extra R500 for the Galaxcia rollers or not. Looking to improve my balance and getting extra miles on the bike during the winter.
  9. I did a 3:51 hour ride (120 km) with 1000m of climbing but my legs bommed out at about 80km. I did hill training the day before so I didn't have the power to finish the ride.
  10. The accident took place in Secunda. In the past 3 months I haven't seen a traffic officer and drivers are ignoring 4 way stop streets and red robots. The only save time to cycle is in the morning. I blame the driver as well as the traffic department or lack thereof. Rant off

Swanepoel se man is ook raak gery, maar het slegs ligte beserings opgedoen. Me. Tina Moolman (22) het die hele ding sien gebeur en vertel sy meen die twee bestuurders het mekaar by ’n stopteken uitgedaag om resies te jaag. “Ek het gesien hoe hulle wegtrek en versnel en besef hier gaan iets leliks gebeur. “Die Uno het skielik remme aangeslaan, die man het beheer oor die motor verloor en dit het gerol.” Volgens Moolman het die bestuurder van die BMW weggery, maar is later deur die polisie opgespoor. Die polisie het bevestig dat albei die bestuurders, mnre. Wesley Prabeï (25) en Albertus Joubert (31), in hegtenis geneem en later op borgtog van R5 000 elk vrygelaat is. ’n Saak van moord, strafbare manslag en roekelose bestuur word teen albei ondersoek. Ao. Magda Calitz van die polisie vertel een van die bestuurders se pa het gehuil toe hy sy seun se borgtog by die polisiekantoor betaal het. “Hy het gesê hy het sy seun al herhaaldelik gewaarsku om stadiger te ry, maar hy het hom nie daaraan gesteur nie.” Calitz het daarop gewys dat straatversnelrenne ’n algemene tendens in die dorp is. “Daar is honderde kruise langs die strate van Secunda, maar die mense wil nie leer nie.” Welman het gistermiddag laat in trane aan Beeld vertel sy dogter en haar man het vroeër die dag aan hom ’n woonstel gaan wys waarin hulle belang gestel het.   12. Once a week on a work morning I will go for a hour and half cycling at 4:00am. During the week it is my normal orbitrek sessions, IDT sessions and core excercises. On Saterdays its a 3 hour ride starting at 7:00.
  13. Tried it once and got banana on my gloves and then got transferred to my face as well. After 2 hours of riding and smelling like a banana I prefer bars. Thats also the reason why I don't use gu's.
  14. I have Vitiligo so it gets worse with direct sun light (not dishwasher liquid).
  15. Ok so it seems Jungle Oats bars and Powerbar Energy. I ride with full finger gloves so eating food won't work for me.
  16. What bars do you hubbers recommend? I know it will differ from person to person. I tried USN Protein Crunch and PVM but my jaw is tired after eating a PVM so it is to chewy. Looking at Powerbars but they are expensive and what bars should I try using. Must I look at protein bars or energy bars? Thanks

    My number was courier to me at an extra cost of R65 and the goodie bag was after the finish line which was an extra bonus.
  18. On Friday I spend 1:30 hours on hill repeats and yesaterday we (Myself and 2 others) went for a long slow ride but after 80km my legs started to give in. I pushed myself to finish the 120km ride (avg 31 kmh). Is it a good idea not to rest after doing hill repeats? Am I over training? Do you gain anything if you keep on riding if you legs are dead? I could only manage half the climb with my normal speed and then my legs are dead then it is survival mode until we hit the down hill again.

    I am Secunda based. What type of seeding must you have for a sub 7.
  21. They never mail back. I send them a mail in the beginning of March and nothing.
  22. I use the Garmin Forerunner 305 unfortunately it is discontinued.
  23. Do you have to livestay in the Cape to be aprt of your team?
