  1. sorry posted the wrong link http://www.mymountain.com.au/p/5434285/trek-bb95-press-fit-bottom-bracket-sram-gxp.html How will I be able to see if that one spacer is in there or not?
  2. Where will these GXP spacers fit into this setup? http://www.mymountain.com.au/p/5433802/trek-bb95-press-fit-bottom-bracket-shimano.html
  3. Ill ride it as is till a week before MTN Clarens and then replace everything in time for that race as well as Sani. I will have a look at the spacing this afternoon. Thanks for the help guys
  4. Two shops have had a look at it and told me its fine which really irritates me!!!
  5. It is GXP. I am not sure if there is a spacer in there and I specifically asked my LBS to check the spacing of the crank as I was concerned about it, so I would be pretty pissed off if its not right. Where do I get the spacers and what is the ideal spacing?
  6. It runs very close to the chain stay. I've had it checked out twice before and both time I've been told that its fine like that. It still concerns me that there is nearly no clearance between the chainring and chain stay.
  7. Im doing sani in May month and wouldn't want to go there with an old stuffed up drivetrain...
  8. Does anybody know which jockey wheels I need to get for a X0 derailleur. I also see that the truvativ replacements chainring sets are sold with the spider. Is it really necessary to get a new spider as well?
  9. I had a close look at my drivetrain after saturdays mud at the ASG race. Just how screwed am I? Jockey wheels: Chainring: I already know the chain needs to be replaced and I am fairly sure my cassette is still okay. Dullstroom, Sabie and Tyger valley in the space of 6 weeks has not been good to my bike...
  10. I am not to bothered with the result as my seeding is already quite accurate. All I am saying is that ASG did all they can to let everyone know about the change. There was absolutely nothing wrong with the organisation at this event or the run up to the event
  11. Where did you register? At cycle lab in fourways they were very clear regarding the timing
  12. Have you looked for the mail in your spam folder? It has happened to me a few times that the seeding email goes to my spam folder. From my perspective ASG did an awesome job at this event. I am sure they sent the email to your provided address.
  13. This is what I received with my seeding email 2 days before registration. Quite clear to me: Thanks for entering Saturday’s big SIDI Online Tyger Valley Mountain Bike Challenge, presented by Barden Tyres. You are entered in the 70km and batched in A with a starting time of 7:30 PLEASE NOTE: The event will be timed by RACETEC, which means riders need to fit their RACETEC timing chips if they want to receive a time.
  14. The email clearly stated that you need a racetec chip and they announced it about 104 times before the start as well. I saw a lot of people without chips.
  15. Its on the racetec website. www.racetec.co.za It does look like each finisher has a duplicate time which they will probably fix some time next week
  16. The mud was a bit of a leg killer but I am happy with my 2h50 on the 70km. The event was very well organised and I will definitely be there again next year.
  17. I also think Max and Kevin will make a very strong team, but the way this whole thing has played out ****!!! First Brandon gets suspended for the whole testosterone issue, which means Neil gets a chance to ride the epic with Kevin. Then 5 days before the start of the race, Max decides to ditch his current sponsors if he can ride in the A team with Kevin... Mind you, Johann Rabie had a bloody strong race last weekend so it is also not a bad pairing.
  18. The press release Max made at the end of last year was quite outspoken against the SA pro marathon racing scene. Max is a good rider don't get me wrong, but it seems like he will say whatever he needs to to get what he wants...
  19. From Facebook. I can't think that they are to happy with him. This is the second time he has dropped Ghost when a better offer has come along When Max Knox did not have a team to ride with for 2014, the Ghost Factory Race Team offered him the opportunity to race cross country. Cross country is a big change to the type of riding Max is accustomed to and soon it was evident that his explosive power was well suited to this form of racing. However he never really settled into this new form of mountain biking, still early in the season Max has now been given the opportunity to revert to his customary race format, marathon. An opening in the Team Fed Group became available as they needed a tough rider to back their strong team for the ABSA Cape Epic. These opportunities do not often happen during a race season and it is with regret that Max had his last ride this past weekend at the UCI Cross Country Championships in Pietermaritzburg for the Ghost Factory Race Team supported by Valencia Cycles, finishing in the top 10 after a crash. “We support Max in his decision to revert to marathon racing and are thankful we had the honour of including him in the Ghost Factory Race Team albeit a short one. A happy rider is a winning rider, and we wish him all the best in the future with his new team. ” Says Jason Theunissen, Team Ghost South Africa owner.
  20. So fedgroup just replied to me on Twitter... @RudiPollard @MaxKnoxcycling switched his focus from cross-country. He was looking for an opportunity to return to endurance events. Isnt this exactly what he did in December when he signed with Ghost for XCO? Something seems fishy to me
  21. This is something I did not expect as Max signed with Ghost in December. I would love to hear from Max as to why he changed his mind again...
  22. In for the Ultra again as per last year... It nearly killed me last time but will go back for some more pain this year!!!
  23. Two of my favourites as well, I just dont know in what condition max is. He'll have to prove me wrong. I also like the RE:CM boys for the red jersey
  24. Thats a very quick turnaround by max. Wondet how prepared he is. Good partnership though
