  1. I assume you bought it from that other oke on that other battle thread
  2. waar is die sitkamer bank? #hubstyle
  3. now this sounds like a great plan! I'll be doing lactate threshold sprints in the pub tonight!
  4. as I understand it, you are still sick/ill if your heart rate is elivated well above your normal range for a given efort level. You should stop your training and wait another day or 2 untill you have fully recover. Training with said heart rate will put strain on your heart and could result in heart damage and heart attack. That being said, I also think your max reading sounds dodge. You should be able to see where the reading went wrong if you look at a scatter graph of your recorded heart rate. Sorry for my spelling, I am replying on my phone and my spelling sux
  5. you mean by the end of the month!
  6. Ok so it seems I got the batch wrong.seems my starting time is 5:35. WTF? I am taking bungy cord with!
  7. I am starting in VD . where can I rent a set of legs to keep up with these okes?
  8. Buy something cheap and save up to buy something propper later. Don't waste your money on a semi-good one now just to replace it later with a better one.
  9. How times have changed! Back in my time whitches used to ride brooms
  10. sorry to hear this Covie, it sounds damn sore! hope you have a fast recovery!
  11. IMO this race is fairly flat and fast. Yes there is 1 or 2 smallish climbs but it is not compairable to SBR or Hekpoort. However, expect some wind, and a lot of wheel suckers!
  12. I’ve been 32GI since it came out. I’ve now found something that costs far less and IMO works much better for me. You will find my recipe here: https://community.bikehub.co.za/topic/120535-maltodextrin/page__hl__maltod Note this this is not the original recipe but one I got to after playing around with the ingredient ratios. I’ve not tested this stuff on various training rides and races. This included a double Breeds Nek ride, 12 hour race, loads of lactate threshold sets, hill repeats etc. I also used it at the BestMed race this past Saturday. My conclusion, no more 32GI for me thanks
  13. I am also doing 2 laps/loops this year. Aiming for a sub 3 on the first lap but we will most probably do a 5 to 7hour second lap because we will be pushing the ice cream bikes around the track.

  15. Stretching and ice baths is the most cost effective solution IMO. There are some supplements that work well
  16. OFM Classic. or did it happen already?
  17. 6 hours a week + 4 or 5 time a week gym + 60 to 90min of soccer could easily result in being overtrained. The thing youy need to remember is overtraining does not always mean you are suddenly doing more, it also happens when you don't rest enough. Base training if very important. Look your performance might be going down due to a number of factors. I'd look at what changed. 1. New bike. If the new bike is the issue, you would most probably have seen a big drop in your performance from the first few days on the new bike. Keep in mind you would not have been used to the new setup if the geomitry changed so you would have noticed new muscle strains fairly soon, even on your first long ride. 2. Smoking. I've never really smoked so I can't comment on that, but I would think this should not impact you. I know some people's diets change when they stop smoking but you didn't mention this so I am disregarding it. 3. Training pattern. You mentioned that previously you never trained all the way through winter. This would have given your body the rest it required. Training non stop will eventually run your body down. It also depends on the effort level that you train at but you did not really give us enough info there so I assume you've maintained a simular effort level. This could very well be the culprit or at least a contributing factor. This is just my opinion and I might very well be completely wrong. However if it was me I'd start to look at my training intensity and rest. Follow a good training program. IMO all good training programs start with a base period. Ps- sorry about the spelling. I can't spel to save my life
  18. Ok so you've mentioned that you managed to train through the winter for the first time. This could also be the cause as this could have led to you being over trained. Do you do any base training each year?
  19. I've got one of the bottom end thule clip-on and hang-on bike racks that accomodate 2 bikes. I've been using it for a long time without any issues. I do however strap my bikes securely to the bike rack so that the bikes dont swing about
  20. Tell Karma to go in your placeHe needs the training as I have it in writing that he will be pushing one of our COW ice-cream bikes around the 94.7 Cycle challenge track
  21. I don't understand??? please supply a video so that i can better grasp what you are saying
