  1. I'm also on the trusty 15 for now, but that won't cut it for (Omtom and) Comrades. There is the partypoopers that keeps on reminding me a stopwatch is all you need for the one or two longest occations, but I'm really itching to treat myself to a FR230 @ R3,180.
  2. From what I gather it will be in the Jan-May timeframe.
  3. Our 4th week of training (resumed) building towards first OMTOM and comrades is done... Nice interview with the comrades winners' coach. https://themarathon.co/2016/06/21/john-hamlett-colonel-coach/ With this bad news... "I believe that every Comrades runner should do two thirds of the Comrades distance three times before Comrades itself. The top runners are doing that so why not the back runners?"
  4. Solid km's under the belt that, thanks. We have been running on and off for the last year and a half, being difficult with the kids to always keep it constant. Mostly 10/12 races and one HM. So we started off again two weeks ago and doing a slow, but solid build up of kms and other core etc training inbetween. Ideally and hopefully we can get the qualifying done in mid November and then onwards to OMTOM and Comrades. Exited as a little boy before Christmas...
  5. Ferret, excuse the noob question, but what/when was that 3 marathons you did this year before the comrades? Did you do the 2Oceans as well? And was these 3 marathons your long runs, or was there other longer runs inbetween as well?
  6. These that you are referring to are Signal hill and yes safety is a bit shacky. Although these gradient is worse then Naval hill, it is also still short distance. But, there is a difference between Signal Hill and Naval Hill yes. Signal hill.pdf
  7. Not at all thus far
  8. Already did. Private club member on my Momentum Health Multiply.
  9. Which do you recommend Johan ?
  10. Is it a case of no answer is an answer ?
  11. Perhaps I'm overthinking this, but can the extreme heat from the roof perhaps cause any damage to the tyres / shocks being so close to it ?
  12. Johan I got the Pro Bike mounts that look exactly like that, rubber over the part that press against the rim. And yes, it is nowhere near a door. I put them up infront of my garage in between the cars. Thanks for the heads up on not making a wrong purchase.
  13. What about the angle this creates on the shocks. Can any damage to shocks ( coil or air ) occur if you hang your bike like this? Thinking oil inside, seals etc. I was also concerned about the strain on the rim, but they recon that is nothing to worry about.
  14. This is more the response someone with a question is looking for. Thanks
  15. Is that all ?
  16. ...
  17. I can only imagine. But does that disqualify me from asking about my specific situation. Or show me to the exact same situation thread as mine and I will delete this one.
  18. And therein lies the problem, she is 1.65, so a 26'r will be my riding companion.
  19. Things happen slowly in the states, but they do happe. Eventually I'm buying new bikes for a change. No I know the immediate answer will be 29, but hear me out. My riding partner is my wife so I will be riding with her all the time. I'm already "holding back" for her, surely the 29'r is going to make this even worse, seeing that she rides a 26. Hence my question, I presume in the light of this it is better for myself to settle with a 26'r again ?
  20. I can get that one for R3,149.40.
  21. What is the best price I can expect to negotiate on the Spectra 3 and be happy with to settle for it?
  22. I think the guy mean, his bikes got stolen. full stop. and then he bought from hot spot cycles
