  1. I don't think you should be fair to Vitality, they don't deserve it 😆 Seriously though, the gist of this, many paged thread, is that Discovery really aims Vitality at the couch surfers and not at the active types, and is trying to be all things to all people.
  2. Scanning through some of this thread really cements my decision to quit Vitality and Discovery Bank (even that requires jumping through a bunch of hoops) As has been mentioned, the rewards have steadily declined with more and more hoops added. I feel a huge amount of relief walking away - is that weird?
  3. I'd agree - excellent read so far...
  4. Thanks so much Chris, I have scanned through that list but don't see what I am looking for. It's Fibromyalgia - any ideas?
  5. Hijack if I may - reading these recent posts, someone mentioned Chronic medicines and Hospital plan, which jolted my memory. Does Discovery Hospital Plan pay for chronic medicines (Classic Core in our case)?
  6. I didn't know about the Vitality option. Any idea how to convert to Vitality from a regular subscription?
  7. Hi Guys, Just been looking at the Naked app. Under Householders, you can add sports equipment etc (incl bicycles) at an overall amount in ZAR. Is this the right place to insure your bicycles or should they be specified?
  8. Actually I must correct this - mine are Assos T.Cento S7
  9. Actually good point - mine are all S7 Mille - an older Neo is fine.
  10. I have loved my Assos bibs but they all seem to suffer from the same thing - the leg elastics tend to lose their elasticity over time. Just bought some new ones and I see the leg elastic has been beefed up somewhat, so clearly it was a known issue.
  11. Tour of Watopia starts on March 9th and will literally be every hour of the day and each stage is up for about 5 days. Have a look on Zwift Companion but make sure you check the TOW filter.
  12. Be interesting to know the outcome and effect, if any, of Discovery's withdrawal of the Strava link, as a trusted source of members various exercise sessions etc. At the time I thought it would really affect Discovery's image - now some years later, it's probably all just water under the bridge, or is it?
  13. I wanted to do that but cannot see a safe route. The southern route takes you vis Seine road (which is gravel - this is a road ride for this group) and the northern side seems pretty busy traffic wise (R59 and Heidleberg rd)
  14. That seems to be the case - Thanks ouzo. Looks like we'll have to forget about the circus portion.
  15. Greetings All, We want to do the Circus SBR ride on Saturday. Can anyone confirm if the Southern gate is accessible. (The one closest to Circus accessed from the R557 - called the Kareekloof gate) I believe it burnt down and you cannot pay to enter there? TIA
  16. Glad this topic has come up. I have 5 pairs all Cento S7 except 1 is Neopro S7. Ages range from 3 to 6 years. Firstly, they are without doubt the most comfortable bibs I have owned. The first sign of wear for me, is the leg elastics start stretching and look horrible condemning the bib to the trainer. Then the chamois starts delaminating. With the prices where they are, I can't quite get my head around the value for money question based on the lifespan I have been seeing. I am north of 90kg so not sure if that affects durability but I rotate the bibs quite conscientiously so would expect better life. We have also been strict with our washing protocols -(Us is wifey and me) I'm now in two minds about what to buy next?
  17. Great video - the Drone footage is awesome!!!
  18. Thanks All for the answers and links posted. As an aside, don't you find Discovery's various offers etc very confusing and difficult to understand - almost Garmin like 😀
  19. Thanks for this - just a quick question if you don't mind. Can I get a device for my wife (also member on our family plan) if I already have the Apple Watch?

    947 Ride Joburg

This I think is the essence of the problem. Both the lead car and Emma going over the tape - What were they thinking??? They could have easily recovered by turning back.

    947 Ride Joburg

Brilliant video Brilliant music Great Ride Thanks for sharing - nice to relive it.

    947 Ride Joburg

I think you right on both accounts - The lead car must be followed (in case of a late re-route or such - assuming no comms with the rider) and the lead car going over the tape - what a travesty - what were they thinking - they even waited for Emma to cross and then continued - there lies ALL the blame!!
