  1. Sadly, have to agree with you on both counts. But directing some cash at a visible, reasonably well manned patrol on the perimeter could do the trick. I'm sure a lot of people would be willing to stomach a reaonable price increase to cover this cost, rather than sacrifice being able to safely ride at the farm altogether. I certainly would.
  2. At the risk of repeating what's already been said, this is really sad to hear about. It's not like we have that many nice MTB tracks in Jo'burg to start off with, and to "lose" one of them to crime would be a shame. Going somewhere else is not the solution - making NF safe again is. Credit to Mandibles for meeting with the farm owners and looking to find a way of reaching this solution . Our entry fees should at least entitle us to safe riding within the confines of the farm.
  3. Not only was I greeting everyone, but I also wished everyone a happy new year too And I even shouted out a few random "Ayoba's" as well!
  4. Yes I have ridden it a couple of times, both in training rides and in Race for Victory. It never seems to get easier!
  5. Hey Kieran, yesterday I rode with jmaccelari, The Thug, Jules and epoh, most of whom are also keen on the ride. We're probably going to park at the circus at 6:45ish, ride to SBR and then ride back to the circus for breakfast and coffee afterwards. Thought I'd let you know in case anyone wants to join us. Looking forward
  6. You coming, Thug?
  7. Is the plan to just park and meet at the gate, and if so is there parking there? I've only ever ridden there from the circus (part of my plan to get french toast after the ride )
  8. Cool, thanks - no idea how I missed this thread
  9. That's a good way of looking at it.
  10. To be honest there are times when I also don't wave at other cyclists. If you're out walking, does that mean you have to greet every person that you walk past? Sometimes you just don't feel like it... and only because... you just don't. People should stop being so sensitive.
  11. How many beers have you had, holy?!? Could have something to do with the deterioration in your hand-eye co-ordination
  12. I think it might be as simple as the perception that most expensive = the best.
  13. Sounds like a "bargain" at R70k - at least in Dogma terms.
  14. Nice wheels, never seen them before. Tubbies or clinchers?
  15. Those IT freeze periods seem to be never ending. The company I work for is freezing all systems over the whole World Cup in June!
  16. The worst part of being at work at the moment is that the coffee bar upstairs has closed. So you can't even get a decent cup of java here Talk about kicking a man while he's down...

    Time or Look?

Ah, thank goodness that's what you're referring to. I've been doing that for years without knowing there was a term for it Nothing worse than a cycling buddy that has a road blow gone wrong, resulting in you having to (a) look at the person with snot hanging across their face and (b) tell them subtly to clean it up!

    Time or Look?

Dude, dare I ask but what's a road blow?!?

    Time or Look?

Well, for starters Time make really great pedals - I've been riding the RXS pedals for 4 years now and they are fantastic (admittedly thats mostly opinion, but the fact is they make very light pedals with good float and engagement properties). All I know about the i-Clic's is what I have read in reviews and what Time has published on its Facebook fan page. The "revolutionary" aspect of these pedals is that they don't have a spring, but use a carbon/ fibreglass blade instead. This makes the pedal even lighter and more secure. I wasn't implying that they are necessarily better than the RXS pedals, just that its worth waiting a month to see whether they are. I know for sure I will be trying a set! Good luck with your decision.

    Time or Look?

Chris Willemse told me he is getting the I-Clics in January. The offshore pricing suggests that the entry level model should be around R800.

    Time or Look?

Couldn't agree more with Zaskar - wait for the I-Clics.
  22. That one's not too shabby either! Where is that? Looks like a mine dump on the east rand
  23. Cool desktop backround, Holy!
