He is in a drug induced coma with face trauma, bleeding and swelling on the brain. More will be known tomorrow hopefully, when he wakes up. He is in ICU but was stable when I last spoke to Jeremy earlier today.

It was horrible to watch and happened so quickly, what a freak accident. No touching of wheels, no cars - just shows that anything can happen to any of us at any time. Be safe out there, peeps. I'm proud to be both a lycra clad "arsehole" (as you put it) as well as an avid MTBer. And I can tell you I'd much rather spend my time riding than constructing the verbose rubbish shown above. Licencing to ride singletrack?? Do me a favour. Turn off your PC, go have a beer and get on your bike mate.

Back to the expo, I managed to organise a fork and saddle for my new mountain bike from Solomon's... man I love negotiating with those okes! Its good fun

5th for me, and it will also mark 5 years of riding. Time taken on the first one = 4h57m; last year 2h28m Oh and in between I managed to lose 21kg

When will they be available at Dischem? And what is the RRP per bar? I must they are excellent, I became very partial to them at the Epic this year, but they may have been because they were free

Try Carol Austin at Activeworx. It's reasonably expensive but worth it from what I hear (R750 per bike plus R250 for each additional bike).

Am also a member of SB Cycling Club, and live in Oaklands (near Rosebank). Am thinking of a club that has a base closer to home, maybe Capri Wheelers. Has anyone else got any suggestions?

Slight hijack, but for something a bit closer to JHB, take a look at Dullstroom MTB. Their training camps helped me a lot with my Epic training this year. Eastern Cape camps also look awesome though.

Actually its really quick and easy to get there. I live not far from Randburg and it takes me approx. 25 min to get there. And it is SO worth the drive time.

One last bit of advice from me... if you call JHB Int'l Mail centre on the day that it arrives, you can arrange to go an collect it there (next to the airport), which IMO is a better option than waiting for it to make its way to your local post office.

The day after my frame arrived in SA, I felt like I was in the twilight zone. First, they actually answered the phone. Then, the guy on the other line said he would go look for my package and call me back. I thought "yah right", and lo and behold 10 minutes later he called me back. Then, he told me that the package had not yet cleared customs, having only arrived the day before, however he told me to come through and collect and he would quickly process it for me. This is a true story. So the long and the short of it: try 0119616075 / 59 and speak to a guy called Kapaulo (sp?)
