  1. Will do - Troisport for R995. Shoe Care in Sandton also has them, but they are R1,195 there (Sandton premium )
  2. I just emailed them...
  3. Even cheaper if you order from CWC Online, which I just did earlier today. As you can see, its been an expensive day for me
  4. Just picked mine up today, let you guys know once I've run in them!
  5. Nice one, Thug! Now I have someone to drive there with
  6. What's the MTB course like, guys? Technical or district road type riding? The fact that the Magalies Monster climb is a stone throw away worries me
  7. Chris, you're a legend, thanks. My kit was included in Thug's order so that you'd only have to ship one package. Looking forward to getting it!
  8. My first triathlon as well, entered the big one. Am cool with the riding and running, k@kking myself for the swim...
  9. Chris, I'm willing to get arrested on the streets of Jozi if you send me some CWC kit!
  10. Exactly. Your biggest risk is getting some adhesive residue on the rim, and even that is not a huge trainsmash as you can work it off with your fingers when it is partially dry. I would strongly recommend leaving the tubby fully inflated on the wheel overnight (without glue) prior to gluing. I didn't do this the first time I put a set on, and did it the second time. It makes life twice as easy. Good luck!
  11. Assuming you're using Continental rim cement (that's all I've ever used so not sure if it dries slower or quicker than other tubby glue brands), you are able to manipulate the tubbies into the sweet spot with a bit of slog before the cement dries completely.
  12. This link courtesy of Thug, with whom I was discussing this earlier: Gluing tubbies
  13. Why not have a stab at it yourself? Its actually pretty easy, and there are lots of "how-to's" floating around internetland.
  14. Oh, and I also rode at Teak on Saturday. As rouxtjie says, only one small section closed off but the rest was a complete jol. It was a great way to usher in the new year.
  15. A good mate of mine rode at VG yesterday and spoke to Erik, the riverside trail apparently sustained lots of damage from the rains. The river flooded big time and knocked down trees and washed bridges away. Most of the trail has already been rebuilt, though, except for the bridges, so its rideable. As an aside, my mate says there is quite a lot of new technical trail up in the mountains, and that his ride there yesterday was sublime.
  16. That's a hard one to give advice on, considering how personal a running shoe is. I guess the most important starting point is whether your brother is looking for a neutral shoe, or one designed for pronating or supranating. That narrows the field of choice down considerably, making the selection process a bit easier.
  17. The Morewood agents told me yesterday that there is a supplier problem that has resulted in the Kwela 29ers only being available in March next year
  18. I also got a sample from them, then added a few tubes to my next order... Haven't really used it yet, but now that I've heard someone rate it, I'll be sure to give it a go!
  19. I got some off Chain Reaction Cycles.
  20. I walked past the Vida stand around 11am this morning and the bike wasn't there, only saw that Cervelo.
  21. Have to agree, its just a bit too loud for my liking, too much branding all over it. But the option to customise your own is a pretty novel idea. Good luck with the business.
  22. IMO, if one has to prioritise its way better to spend cash on events than goodies Pity I didn't get to try out the new shoes on Saturday, missed the race due to being sick
  23. Weight Weenie, I have to confess that these shoes are so good that I just bought the road version too. These shoes are made for you, dude, you have no idea how light they are. Very bling indeed.
  24. One of the guys in our bunch this morning got a puncture and had two drawing pins in his tire. We must have passed about 50 cyclists repairing punctures, one of them was holding a handful of pins that he'd collected out of the road. It resulted in us riding in the middle of the road to avoid the pins, thereby inducing even worse road cycling etiquette and causing even more frustration between cars and bikes. What a bunch of idiots to take valuable time that they could be spending with family, friends and beer and instead run around throwing pins in the road. Knobs.
  25. Rather take my mates ones! He rides a Merida and is likely to be wearing Club 100 kit!
