  1. I also quite like the fact that its a Mac and not a PC
  2. That's a great ad, nice one, Chris!
  3. Sorted - I went into my user profile and updated that to include my ID number, which now shows up in my claims. Hopefully all works now. I still think its a pretty lousy website, though! Thanks for the input, chaps.
  4. Yes there is, I think the cap is 5,000 points but stand to be corrected.
  5. I just re-registered (second time so far this year) and managed to submit my claims. It gets better though - I see they denied my claim for the Dischem half marathon because I did not supply my ID number, however the text box in which one captures his ID number does not work I've tried giving my ID number in the comments field... lets hope that works, else I just wasted 20 minutes claiming points for 5 events so far this year.
  6. Am I the only oke still struggling to claim points on the new website? I find it utterly useless, when I click on the "Login to claim Vitalitu Points" hyperlink, a new window opens up, in which the middle frame is white and blank. Hauw! I'd rather pay R120 and get a functional website like last year

In general I'd agree with you, JMac, but I think Omnico is incompetent when it comes to Cannondale. The brand manager is, well, less then perfectly efficient. Its the reason I bought a Trek TT bike when I really wanted a Slice.
  8. My latest acquisition. My car is now sleeping outside, have officially run out of garage space
  9. What kind of a knob wastes his time driving around the Cradle dropping drawing pins?? Surely he/ they have better ways to spend their time? Pathetic.
  10. Not true, I'm afraid. One of the guys in our group suffered the drawing pin treatment as we turned off the Avianto Road under the N14 on Saturday morning. A really nice fellow cyclist stopped his car to offer us the use of his foot pump and mentioned that his group had suffered a similar fate.
  11. Bleak to have missed this one, but couldn't make it.
  12. Word does get around quickly in this small community of ours
  13. Thug, how long does it take to drive there from our neck of the woods? Lets give it a whirl!
  14. Which club is this? Do you know who we can contact to see the test results?
  15. Cool, thanks, I actually hadn't seen the results. Let's have a beer after the March race. I klapped two Hansa draughts after the last one and it was the best recovery shake I've had in a while
  16. Did you ever get any of these, Pornstar?
  17. I've swum there too as part of my Rescue Diver scuba qualification. Was fat and unfit back then and had to swim 400m, I remember having to hang on the buoy halfway to prevent myself from drowning. Eish. On the plus side, the water is reasonably clean - its just a bit far to drive from Northern JHB.

You being serious? That's a shocker...
  19. No worries. I normally am in the water before 6am, its taking longer to get light these days so my start time is tending to get a bit later too. Happy to let you know the next time I'm going if you're keen to join. @Zula - I totally agree that pool is preferable, but its just a different ball game swimming in open water compared to the pool, as I'm sure you know. It made a big difference at Xterra that I'd done a few OW sessions at Emmerentia. I think as I do more triathlons and get more OW experience, the need to train at the dam will subside somewhat.
  20. Beat me to it Jmac. And I can't argue with the Germiston point. I'd feel better if someone actually tested the E-Coli and Coliform count in there...
  21. I started swimming there 2 weeks ago and its fine. So far I have no thumbs growing out of my forehead and no strange fungus growing in my crack, so give it a whirl! No membership required. I just parked in the club parking lot and jumped in by the jetty. Its nice because there is a big digital clock there that you can use to time your swims. Its 1km around the big white outer buoys. Be sure to swim clockwise, in the same direction as the canoeists. And use a brightly coloured swim cap, I was wearing a black one the first time I swam there and nearly got mowed down by one inadvertently.

I concur 100% with both Thug and Zula. Yes, the government and the municipalities are a bunch of farking idiots. But big up to Troisport - I'm new to multisport and events like this morning will only keep me coming back. Well done guys, superb!
  23. I did, my second one and was awesome. It's more like a cross country run but good fun nonetheless. The December one was much hillier, was at Jackal Creek golf estate. The Hansa draft afterwards worked a treat :-)

Just saw the announcement from Troisport that Sunday has been changed to a duathlon due to high bacterial levels in Germiston Lake. What a disappointment, but better than getting sick I suppose.
