  1. Look at the legs --- are they shaved ? Must wonder if this is a Karroo boytjie or just a crazy Geeermannnnn
  2. SO this is what happened. Tok everything appart - pushed bach the pistons - looks like the one was a bit "lazy" - worked fine when I pulled the lever like this - pushed it back etc: then replaced the wheel. end of story - No brakes - no presure in the tube/lever. What now ? Think that the hidroulic fluit just need to be topped up or something to restore the presure, and other thing thin the pad still rubs. WTF ? Will let my LBS check it out-have no idea what went wrong and how to fix
  3. Dude : The advantages or living in the Karroo your feet is like a hardcore climbing shoe, hard as rock and thick as steel. Its quick dry, very aero, style option available in different colors. This guy never wore shoes in his life, for him he was just cruising to town, and somehow ended up in the race 230km in en 230 out for shopping - and now you guys are making a fuss over this.... HAHA - still looks pretty hardcore (looks like some American survival show - over dramatic) Well done for this dude - saw him at the start
  4. Crow -- Would like to join you guys. We ride everyday 2-3 of us - from 6pm. Still need to get home after work etc. So will be able to meet somewhere at 6. Would like to do 50+km or something like that. Explored jonkershoek inside out. Done most rides where not many are willing to go. Training for the transbaviaans and need to do some longer rides, even if at slower pace. Been doing hard riding 30+km for a while now, but need some time in saddle.
  5. Where is the hangbrug again ? Comming from jonkershoek then...
  6. Hey, can some of you name/tell me where to do a great amount of km on the bike - dirt / single track anything. Want to do a few hours but also alot of km - thus - flatter terrain. Been doing jonkershoek and Paarl for a long time now and getting a tired of the same/loop routes. The climb up to the top contour line is good but then the rest of the ride is Downhill. name a few plz. Heard some names - Eden ? Coetzenburg route ? Tell me where they are and how to get there. Other areas also welcome Delvera farm - want to try this aswell.
  7. Yep - all the post lead to the same idea. Thanx, will keep the oil away from the pads and will try and sort it out. Thanx again
  8. It is the M575 - it has a adapter frame thing and then the caliper. Can I move the adapter a bit of is this fixed/ round boltholes? I'm at work, so just trying to figure out what to do when I get back, to still be able to do a night ride tonight. Is it quite easy to remove the pads and stuff - to oil the piston? Break fluid - as in the blue can of stuff ? Can I use WD40 ?
  9. Should they move or not? not sure, didn't look at that. Here is the breakdown. Bike was fine, everything set. took the front wheel off to transport in the car - put it back on, was not right, aligned it, was better, but not good enough still rubbing. The outside pad is fine with enough clearance, but the inside is tight onto the rotor. if i spin the wheel and look at the gap on the outside pad, the rotor runs smoothly in its line - so its not bend or damaged. Just need to know if I should maby take apart the pads and reinstall them, or what else can I check. A business card don't fit in the inside - its that tight- even if I loosten the bolts. Come to think of if - the outside pad moves if I push it with my finger but the inside one not.
  10. The disk look fine - aligned and everything. the caliper just need to move closer to the wheel (inside to compensate for the space on the outside)
  11. Shimano M575 Disc 180/160 mm SLX If I look through the caliper I can see the one pad with lots of clearance and the other one is touching the disk/rotor
  12. hey Roadie turned part time mtb'er. Need some advice on Disc brakes. How do I set them correctly so that the disk don't rub against the pad when I ride or turn the wheel. Know the trick where you loosen the bolt's of the brake caliper and then turn the wheel break and hold it in and then fasten the bolts again. but it seems that the one disk might be of center or something cause this does not work. When I fasten the bolt i can see the caliper moving back to its original position. Can I take the pads out and check them or something. plz explain, want to be able to fulle raplace it after I took it appart.
  13. uhmmm - guess you need a new tire then
  14. old one is much nicer
  15. I'll pull any chick up the hill and through the epic, as long as die reward afterwords is worth it!!
  16. Cool Daxiet, thanx for the feedback
  17. I've got a proper setup on my bike. What I would like to hear from you guys is: What lenth straight bars do you ride? Do you ride with barends? Your sem straight (more 0 degrees or riser type) What seats do you ride ? i'v got a Prologo Naco - very hard but feels good. Do you use co2 boms ? and many other... will think of some more... 18. Your not practicing with those eastons are you? Tubbies are way to expensive to puncture during weekday rides. Whats your training wheels?
  19. So what is the opinion on tires then. If you want a average tire for let say the transbaviaans ? Flat dirt roads with lots or rolling hills and ok a few hectic climbs. nothing tecnical just flat our riding and pacing...
  20. Good to hear man. Can get some of those for cheaper - through a friends dad who own a shop - so will then try them for a change. Do they have shorter or longer legs ? The first accent has decent short legs - like it - especially in the summer
  21. UPDATE - read all the other/older posts on other bib related topics, but no one seems to aggree. What do you guys think about NOsweat bibs ? Friend got a few pairs and he is very happy Need some advice. Like the First accent shorter legs, but after all the negative post on those I'm not to sure.
