  1. this nogal at the airport! Thought most people who fly will have enough cash to at least buy a tyre! Don't think workers park under the netting - do they ?
  2. If you read the previous posts - I currently ride a 135 - which was fine until it started to sag a bit after many km of happy riding. So my Q: I want the Arione because it allows for more movement on the saddle because its longer - but it comes in a 132 and then 143 ish / 145 ish. What would the negts be of a too wide saddle or too narrow? if the current one was fine why not go with the same width again - why listen to a chart ? ASTANA2010-03-05 05:42:40
  3. Its a "memory" foam pad you sit on to imprint your sit bones to measure the distance between the two center to center.from there you can determine the correct saddle width you need... Thanks. I suppose most LBS can do this? If the sell Specialized then yeah also Bondrager dealers might have their version of this. Not so sure what the other negatives are (of a too narrow or too wide saddle) - because most people ride the saddles they got with their bikes in the first place. as long as your hips dont rock from side to side I guess its OK ??

  5. improvement in what ? just comfort or injury prevention , less back pain , less saddle sores ? sorry for asking
  6. Hi Currently riding a 135mm wide saddle - Sella Italia. its a bit worn out by now and seems to be sagging a bit - making unnecessary pressure points on places u don't want Did the Specialized ass "o" meter test to measure sit bones width. Came out to be +-110mm. According to their scale - I should then ride a 143mm saddle... Now the question is, can I buy a Fizik Airone which is 132mm wide? What can the negatives be of a too narrow saddle ? Surely too wide can also affect your riding and comfort ? ASTANA2010-03-05 03:21:15
  7. Hi there. Random question: Anyone know if its posible to connect Xbox360 to laptop and play xbox live ? Laptop connected to wireless network - very good connection. Anyone up to par with Xbox live connections and subscriptions ? Thanx
  8. Well done Robbie. Great to see the man up there again. Victory pose the same as tour stage win - haha.
  9. I don't see them wearing PowerBalance wrist bands LOL
  10. If they decide to do the per channel thing they will make it so expensive that you would rather want to take the package in any case. I guess they would have a minimum amount of channels you must take or some default channels plus your selection or something like this. Either way - it will be better than what we sit with now. LOADS of crap on other channels with a very few channels making it worth while and SPORT -- aah the sport
  11. R630 ?? So a R130 increase ?? Compare that to ESCOM price increase and its a bargain. f'ked.
  12. this is almost like a ESKOM case. ok not totally, but it goes like this.. If you want to watch tv at home - you have to have DSTV If you electricity you got to pay Eskom. No real alternatives - for tv there is SABC - which is a hog of crap for elec there is solar power or wind power - haha ITS ALL B"SH*T - we have to pay these ridiculous prices just because...
  13. dude you serious .... ? wtf..
  14. Its on nearly all food packaging. Fruit and other things you can find on the web' date=' just search for "caloric value of food groups". I would seriously recommend the R600-800 buck visit to a nutritionist who has a good track record with athletes (preferably professional athletes) as they will give you a diet that is actually suited to sports people. Most nutritionisits outside of the sporting arena have very little "begrip" as to just how much an athlete on a better than average level needs to eat. They just look at your weight, apply a sliding scale and print out a generic diet. My last one gave me the exact same meal plan she gave to my mother who is unfortunately not well as she has sever arthritis. I ate as much as she did and would have lost 3kg per week on her diet. Let's just say I received my money back within one day of getting my diet even after I had given her my powertap kCal values for the past 3 months. I didn't even eat enough to do my rides.[/quote']do you know of a good nutritionist in Stellenbosch area. Marilette Malherbe, 082 954 3024. She is brilliant and works with a number of Pros from all different sports. She rides herself. Tell her Doug said to give her a call and she will sort you out with a great cycling program. She really makes it specific to you. It is not generic at all. Doug - what does she ask again ? 800 ? She is really good. Working from her program, but think I need to upgrade/change again. Couldn't remember her name thanx

Don't have it with me now. obviously better to let them do it for you. Just easier if you have some sort of idea what is what. how did your mealplan look ? was it indicated in grams or portion sizes etc ? The hard part is to make the food they want you to eat. The makeshift stuff I eat become really boring after a few days. What snacks do you eat during the day ?
  16. On all processed stuff you have the estimated nutrition value. Use the kJ (kilo joules) and convert to kcal using the above conversion. Obviously not everything is good to eat so thry and eat healthy and use those kcal. The stuff you eat raw / fresh covert to kcal using the internet to browse. I use grams (g) and convert that to kcal according to the web info. Its not rock solid - but its a rough estimate, so I can at leat see when I'm doing to little or eating too light etc. it also help you just to focus on not eating crap food. Want to run this test for a week or more just to know how much of what I'm consuming. Stick to the basics. Fresh is better, lots of H20. No sweets. Minimal or no coffee.
  17. ok cool. Just out of interest what is you length and weight. ASTANA2010-02-15 08:32:32
  18. It's the other way round 1 kcal = 4.1868 kJ Thanx - typing error there. Fixed it
  19. HI looking at kcal consumption per day. 1 kcal = 4.2 kJ (rough estimate) I know endurance athletes should take in more etc etc. Got a meal plan a long time back from a nutritionist for aprox 10 000 kJ with works out on 2381 kcal per day. Thats calculating - morning excersice expenditure (gym and or swimming/running) - work (inactive state ) and excersice after work (Cycling 2hours +) Looking at your meal plan/ consumption per day - how much do you work on ? Just a rough estimate please. ASTANA2010-02-15 07:54:29
