To add my 2 cents worth, make sure the rear cog, chainring and chain are all 1/8 i.e tooth of rear cog and chainring is just over 3mm wide. Inner width of chain is also 3mm wide.
A person will never be update to date with new developements and technology. Bicyle manufacturers will always need something new to make money. My theory is to buy what is going to work the best for you. After all you should hopefuly be spending a lot of time in the saddle, so the bike needs to feel comfortable. Being a taller rider, I feel more comfortable on a 29er.
From experience, I found the tensioner roller noisy and the vibration tends to loosen the tensioner arm. Replace the roller with a derailer sprocket or something similar. My 2 cents worth.
I want to know if anyone has tried this plan and what sort of results they obtained? Has anyone tried it using cycling as a partial substitute to weight training?
I have had the Volcan FS1 26" for a year now and am totally satisfied. Strong carbon frames, top spec components, all at a good price. I believe Volcans are Swiss made. Also the MTN team Used to ride volcanos, not sure if they still do.

In Which suburb on the Westrand do you stay? I ride from Weltevreden Park out in any direction. Kinda make my own routes as I go. Usually on Sundays I ride out to Emmarentia. Also I ride single speed, so choose my ride carefully so that I done include any hectic hills.
