  1. think they simply fixed the “base” event eventually used to calculate winner and betas..... now had to shuffle groups to make spread correct
  2. Seeding out, Beta 1.39
  3. its now just every day threads .. noone can be bothered to keep to topic .. but that just my personal gripe o wait, its not friday yet
  4. normally 1.1 to 1.9 ... but with the latest timing mishaps, probably be 0.89
  5. Discussion here https://community.bikehub.co.za/topic/180324-event-medihelp-stellenbosch-cycle-tour/?p=3562623
  6. See they have new winner... 2:48 finish time.. seriously impressive!!!
  7. I checked.. the new winner time for sportiff #6 is 43.1km/h average.. it used to be about 40km/h for past events.. I know its all automated, but I think the wind of CTCT 2019 where the elites got massive gap on next bunch screwed the base event stats., I probably should try and do the stats thing on the results, I just don't have the willpower to spreadsheet anymore anyway .. at least we all getting brushed with same broom, so in theory our CTCT relative start position will still be same..
  8. Well, all of us is chucked back, so in theory same people still, hopefully just more keen to actually work together to get up there again
  9. Don't fee alone .. logged in now, drop 4 groups since my new seeding from sportiff #6 a month ago.. hopefully just glitch in matrix edit: I see they adjusted CTCT 2019 beta to 1, assume that now the correct base event , .. still don't explain why I , all of sudden, suck so much more
  10. So its the next day ... time to reflect I'm NOT convinced about the new route ... that bains decent is dodge AF and people took stupid risk to just get bike length ahead... Almost got hit twice by cars at road works part and the narrow shoulder area .. Our group had to come to almost standstill at one point to avoid getting hit. Race was otherwise uneventful , except for one guy falling in our group after hitting stone in the road (hit it as was he going for his water bottle and other hand came of the bars). He going be eina today... First time my the fitness was better than the pace, but you can only go as fast as the pace of the group .. There was not many doing work unfortunately, hats of the the guy/s trying to make everyone do some work , hopefully you learned you cannot make a wheelsucker do work, no matter what you try..
  11. Point for me is to get good enough seeding to get sub3 at argus .. no other reason really I hardly race any funrides (I normally go balls to the wall and blow 3/4 in) .. but one tonner is one change to easy get better seeding, so will be wheel sucking where ever I can and you won't see me at front of bunch unless its really going slow and I can TT faster.
  12. but but ... the seeding is perfect and there no slow people in fast bunches that will get dropped o wait .. I sung that song already today edit: crap .. missed my 1000th post somehow (facepalm)
  13. So most of the hub is starting in D .. pity i'm not strong enough to keep up that first bump (going by the strava stats) I normaly catch bunches again on the down, but I don' t know bains (only driven it once by car years ago) so won't be taking any risks going down other side.. just not worth it. might end up with a nice long 130km TT .. Just hope the rain stays away
  14. Rant on: Just my opinion And that is the biggest issue with current seeding .. one lucky event and TONS of noobs in A batch . . . ., they need to bring in UK mythology (points/race count to move up) or at least limit can only move up 1 group at time from the ~F groups , and you need to refresh status at least every 6 months or drop to lower group. This will ensure that the A batch is proper strong riders Rant off. Edit: But ja... its a funride after all .. so who cares about seeding Edit: Edit 1000th post .. (or about)
  15. Thanks, just figured that out ... see its on feb 02 2020 .. so not sure where SCT can fit in without both events sacrificing entrants.. noone going to race 2nd week of Jan , and then its normally event every week or 2 till argus
  16. What is this 2020 Paarl Cycle tour? https://pedalpower.org.za/events/2020-paarl-cycle-tour/
  17. Bain’s Kloof is closed to traffic for 3 hours. Regards
  18. Sigh.. Wendy not playing ball at moment, im also waiting for answers. try email robert, he normally on the ball robert@pedalpower.org.za Wendy apparently out of office try jo@pedalpower.org.za or robert@pedalpower.org.za
  19. emailed them to ask if bains will have full road closure, otherwise gonna be rather interesting ... not in mood to get hit again in a race by a car.
  20. Also going to be interesting to see what happens at top of bains .... that is a bloody long climb to try climb at someone else's pace on cold legs (well for overweight, under powered people like me)
  21. Winner time get adjusted to reflect what top guy would have done it at .. (I still have not worked out that part of seeding) , then beta is automatically calculated based on the amount of fast guys going slower vs slow guys going faster... If lot of "fast guys" go slower, beta normally higher , if lot slow guys go faster .. then beta lower. its all automated, 0 persons involved The reason why one tonner is normally high beta is that fast guys ride with their teams, so lots of "fast guys" go slower... skewing the calcs you can search for seeding here on bikehub .. comes up often... the whole calculations is also on ppa/racetec site somewhere
  22. me? can neither confirm nor deny that
  23. Wifi is simple ... its crap unless its works, then its not so crap. My wifi mythology is simple, if connected and works, just leave it alone. on home automation you don't need speed , just need stay connected.
