  1. No the big one. I have big wrists so the big watch sits comfy. PAM423
  2. Today I finally gave in to a many-year-long itch... This is my kryptonite watch, and I found one.
  3. Hey Saag, great fella called Gavin Stuckey. He runs his business www.carbonfibrebikerepair.co.nz from his workshop at home on Redoubt road. Did a really nice job, and I am very picky...
  4. Carbon frame. It is an Ibis Tranny that I had refinished. Can’t wait to get her out in the trails next week!
  5. She’s finally done. I may have got a bit carried away, but here is the final version of my little girl’s first proper MTB. The color is rose gold metallic and it has a very subtle color shift in the light.

    Who remembers?

Love the smell of Kiwi polish. That and Dubbin.
  7. Yeah, I hunted high and low for a nice 26er frame, fork and wheels. Currently setup as a single speed, frame has a slide in the rear triangle that lets you tension the chain without using a doofer or such. Frame is a bit scratched, but i will have it refinished in a color of her choice. Waiting for a new hanger from Ibis, then it will become a 1X10 using some bits I have around. Can’t wait to get her out on the trails!
  8. First real MTB for Ms11! She is very excited, almost as much as me!
  9. Yip, we used them too. Very good.
  10. Sadly that Abarth Spider doesn’t drive as good as it looks. The Mazda version is a much more fun car AND a lot cheaper.
  11. Nice looking bike.
  12. Yip, Sable International. Not pleased. Who did you use?
  13. Yes that’s all true. The tail to is that it can take a long time if you try and do it from abroad. We have been at it for over a year due to distance, complications and SARS slow cycle. Would most likely have been a lot quicker in SA. Also, I believe you if you are in NZ for 4 years or more that money will get taxed again coming into NZ.
  14. One of these, and a Bentley Bentayga up the road from us. Both are seriously ugly cars.
  15. Being expensive doesn’t mean the treatment is particularly good. Had a root canal done here for around $2000. Dentist screwed it up. Cost me nearly double that to have someone else fix it. That was the cost of a pretty decent bike for some pretty basic dentistry.
  16. I know exactly how fat I am, @intern told me last time I saw him...
  17. Mortar and pestle. Hard work that. I find a cheap coffee bean grinder works a treat.
  18. Need to add Denis Villeneuve to that list,
  19. Thank you sir.
  20. Some lekker new wheels for my road machine (hopefully they bring the inspiration I’ve been lacking...)
  21. Just finished Bruce Springsteen's autobiography, Born to Run. Highly recommend. Also, Walkaway by Corey Doctorow, another highly recommend.
  22. Take a look on googleEarth for LandRover Sandton. It shows the empty site, but if you swivel to the right you'll be looking at where she was coming from. She was really moving.
  23. Saw this on our local interwebs. Anyone know anything about these? https://www.trademe.co.nz/home-living/food-beverage/coffee/auction-1408322668.htm
