  1. THat bike has been around since 2010.
  2. That is gorgeous! Well done silent_Bob!
  3. Hahaha! YES IT IS!
  4. Speak to the guys at Clarens Xtreme. They have maps and GPS-maps that they'll load for you.
  5. There was one at the new CycleLab superstore when I was last there. Salsa, very cool bike.
  6. Yip, World Time Machine, Nelson Mandela Square
  7. Resurrected my old dive watch from 15 years ago, Citizen Promaster Hyper Aqualand.
  8. That black one is gorgeous!
  9. Kenda Karma has been working a treat for me. Also WTB.
  10. Got the 810 and 910XT, and have had 800, 310XT and virtually every Garmin device before that. Have also had most of the Polar devices in the last 10 years. The 810 is a fantastic cycling tool, and the full color mapping is great. Many of the MTB stage races are starting to use Gps routes instead if markings, and this device is awesome for that. The Bluetooth integration with my iPhone works a treat and your data is uploaded as soon as your session ends. Really a great device. 910xt is the gold standard for multisport devices, swim, bike and run, and easy transitions between them. It does use the ANT+ key to upload data, so you need a PC to do it, unless you have an ANT+ key for your phone. Suunto is my next favorite because they are great looking and integrate the GPS into a watch you can wear every day. They don't make an integrated swim device though, so that is a gap they need to fill. I have no experience with Bryton, but by all accounts they are nicely out together. All Garmin, Bryton and Suunto devices use the ANT+ standard for peripherals, so their extras like HR, cadence, speed and so on are fully interoperable. Also most power meters will work seamlessly with all of the above. The Polar RCX 3 and 5 are both really fantastic, the only drawback being that the GPS is a separate pod. Benefit is that they are also watches so you can wear them all day. Sadly Polar still doesn't support standard ANT+, so you are tied to their proprietary peripherals for cadence, speed, power and so on.
  11. Frogbike FTW! Just swapped out the slick tyre for a set of knobblies and my daughter is tearing it up! Been looking for a quality kids bike for a year or so and this ticks all the boxes. Well done Grant!
  12. I did deal with it. You could as easily have stated that you believe it is dangerous to undertake the kind of hacking described by the OP., and happen to strongly agree with you.
  13. I think that offhanded attack on Johan was uncalled for. Perhaps stick with the topic.
  14. 10l/100km, nice! I wish. My trip to Knysna and back got me my best ever consumption of 14.4...
  15. I'll be trying that!
  16. Yes, I'll have one.
  17. Just a frame. R30k. I have no doubt it will ride nice... Until you need to service the rear-end.
  18. Don't do it. I had a good hard look at one at Mike's. That is a concentrated bundle of heartache and strife... Rear suspension bearings are going to be a misery, finish on the frame is rubbish. 4 years of very eager anticipation of this (allegedly) caviar bike, and it turns out to be barely cheese crackers. Very disappointed. Ps, there are only 4 in SA.

  20. That was the Garwood family. Kevin and Nicholas have finished the full Ironman in SA twice and are regulars on the half-distance circuit.
  21. The biting snake is a python of some sort. Not venomous.
  22. Didn't know they allowed TT/Tri bikes. Saw 2 out today. But I guess if there can be unicycles and ice-cream bikes, then why not?
  23. That's a fantastic documentary.
  24. Thanks Thug. Slightly nervous taking a drill to the bars but it came out ok.
