  1. The Blue is PROPER technical riding. An absolute pleasure for those of us who love that type of thing. One of the very few, if any places in Gauteng that are exciting to ride for the skillful... Everything you walked is rideable with enough practice.
  2. That tyre had seen better days before you did that to it...
  3. Rouxtjie don't forget you can wear any colour socks as long as they're white...
  4. IainW may have become 1 of the reasons these guys keep going. Thank goodness for the hub. But a lot of saps must be getting caught out. Think I might just start up a lil business like this myself.
  5. Remember, your XX/XO1 'groupsets' don't include brakes. And you'll want Shimano brakes anyway. XT is decent value for money.
  6. Sheezuz...! Quite pricey. Anyway, I'd be interested in learning a few skillz... Should be easy enough to find places to host events. Thaba Trails for example.
  7. There u have it 3wings. And it'll probably include free shipping from Evo.
  8. What does a trials bike cost generally...? And are there many local events...?
  9. Also, get yourself some Race Face crank protectors. They work like a charm and look trick.
  10. Yup, you cannot anodize in white. You can powdercoat, but on an area like the cranks that are prone to bashing into rocks etc (assuming its on a MTB), powdercoating is more susceptable to chipping. I find it's also difficult for powdercoaters to get a smooth glossy finish. Rather have them spraypainted in 2k and baked properly at a panelbeater/painter. They can colour sand the clear coat and buff it to a perfect shine.
  11. What happens when it's you bringing your gun to a gun fight...? When you're not the only one strapping...? And his/theirs isn't just a .22...?
  12. If you search reviews on the Tallboy, you'll find that it's a multiple award winning bike in more than 1 international magazine review/shoot out... Do a search on the hub and on Google regarding Anthems cracking at the seat tube/top tube junction... That puts me off... They may have sorted the problem, but I'd still pay the extra 8 for a 'boutique' frame vs a 'run of the mill' bike you're likely to see plenty other people on. Like Scott's or Merida's.
  13. It's a no contest. Tallboy for sure. U won't get carbon wheels for 8k anyway. A set of ZTR's is more than adequate. Its like choosing between a Golf GTI and a Lambo.
  14. On my ride this morning I found a Racetec chip that looks to have snapped off it's bracket. Was lying on the R550 near the brewery. If anyone knows Velizar Georgiev, PM me to arrange collection.
  15. Kask make some awesome, comfortable, lightweight lids. I recently bought a Mojito. Loving it.
  16. Sure thing... Or let me know when you're riding Thaba or Rietvlei. The UD really comes alive in the sun...
  17. Yup, my Highball is UD gloss. Unfortunately no 3K bike in the stable, and I sold the 12K road bike I had. There aren't too many recent model name brand carbon bikes that are coming out in 3 or 12K these days. Its either UD or a completely painted frame. In my own opinion, the weaved frames look a bit 'old fashioned', and thus my preference for UD. I also find the 3K weave has been mimicked to death in faux carbon finishes on dashboards and motorcycle plastics etc etc. Again, just my personal opinion.
  18. Very Cool. The Black saddle will definitely finish it off...
  19. Perhaps they're sprinkling a lil of this on their steak...?
  20. So yup, same place...
  21. Yup. There are plenty of routes out to Walkerville and surrounds. You can easily put together a couple hundred km out there. Sand roads, jeep and single track through farm lands.
  22. They are the same place.
