  1. Have not seen it in a while so cant remember but it is a stunning ride. Good centre of gravity. Still think my friend is insane selling it and giving up the cycling thing!
  2. I am bailing - decided to sleep late and take some of the Cycling Bunnies out on a training ride. Time to get some of them to do intervals!
  3. Yep - she said off road. Hence my input. My friends bike has lockable shocks, is an extra small, has disks, cant remember the other components but it is a great bike - I would have bought it for Tour de Tuli had it not been too small for me. Plus, the price is quite good.
  4. Guys, I am not sure but will an xs size fit? I have a friend who is selling her GT. Let me know if you are interested. I can arrange for you to see it this weekend. It has hardly been ridden and has fairly good specs - ideal as a starter bike that will last a while. Disk brakes etc. She even has a few items of kit that she will give away to the happy seller.
  5. tar up to homestead - then we hit pavements all the way up to the spruit. about 8or 9km to spruit - if that
  6. Say... 1ish? Anyone else interested, pm me for the address - park at my place as there is safe parking and then we ride from there. Pavement hop to where we popped out on Jansmuts and ride that section up to the top of Emmerentia.
  7. If you keen, we can ride that top section this sat afternoon if you want. ride straight there (route i took home) but keep me informed about the rides. it is actually a nice and dare i say it - pretty ride. shame: you and dangerdassie had 2 grumpy cyclists with you!! you should have ridden with us on Friday! The 2 of us had a fairly good ride.
  8. not this sunday but maybe the one after.. or perhaps round lunchtime this sunday i promise not to fall on the road before and get sticks into my legs and i will leave the grumpy attitude at home
  9. hmmm........ some days you have a bad ride - that was me. struggling at the back can stink. thats why i bombed at jan smuts - got gatvol of my legs not going fast enough. horrid thing is that i ran into friends in randburg and was told how awful i looked! its called mud and blood. deal with it!

So... got the Jan one finally but like you all said - the Scott brochure was double the size of the mag!! WHAT THE?? Over the weekend I looked at a bunch of Argus editions - all the same content!!! They just reword the stuff - although I am sure that if you looked far back enough they likely have repeated word for word. Wonder where my December issue is - or if I will ever get it! ? ! Looking forward to getting the Ride mag thro the Lab. Wonder if that will get lost?

  15. Just checked their website. The frame alone is over 60k. Then a person must still buy the fork and add shipping and import costs. It could easily cost 80k to get that frame into SA OUCH!! Suppose after fork all the additions you are looking at an easy +100k!! EINA I think a bike like that will easily cost about 120k+ in SA. If you want to ride tandem then you can always be my stoker on my Raleigh I'm always looking for a partner Okay! I am always looking for a new challenge! The nice thing about changing partners regularly on a tandem is that it is acceptable to go through a number of partners in a year Hehehehe PM me if you are ever really in need of a different partner for your tandem. Could be fun. Yes, it is one of the few socially acceptable times when you can regularly change your partner

Funny thing is that I dont eat nearly half of the amounts she suggests! I dont need to take a protein shake - just an immune and antioxidant suppliment. Thanks for all your help guys.

  20. Also.. you can go hectic on the vitamin c - vital vit c tabs from clicks/discem. eat them like sweets - sour but works. ginger and lemon also works. it is likely not flu just your body flushing stuff out - or, you could have trashed your system and picked up a bug but likely flushing junk out
