  1. The only decent commentator on R2000 was Manners. I enjoy the Guerilla Cricket SA commentary. They sound like they are having fun too.
  2. That won't work either Thanks I'll try that. Try https://www.1wsr.com/ for radio commentary, better than Radio 2000
  3. I don't have DSTV, where are people watching the cricket?
  4. Highlights fom Cadence cycling https://vimeo.com/337692719
  5. If you have nothing constructive to say piss off...
  6. A woman fell pregnant, nothing to see here...
  7. Something I would like to do
  8. Come join me. The route is still a bit rough and ready, but we're learning and will steadily improve. Day 2 though is still a beeatch.
  9. Thanks for riding Fanie, my dream coming true. Why no pics of the harried course designer. I didn't stand still enough to be in any pics. Now for next year
  10. Been a while since anyone posted. Still trying. I've lost 10kg since May 2018, feeling much better, but beer is my downfall. Plenty demonizing of red meat using poor methodology. Like this one.
  11. Nice bike. How's it with the lefty. I'm getting too old for rigid forks and that's a cool solution
  12. My wife gets the moerin with me because I insist that I can do it myself. I'm not an invalid and I have a very high pain threshold and don't like taking pills.[emoji23]
  13. Haven't a clue, but when the doc saw me this morning he said that the cut was the tip of the iceberg. There's apparently extensive degloving up the leg, so will be out of action for a while.
  14. We started off a lekker ride, riding the first 30km of GKT, beautiful ride to start off a "race", and my companions persuaded me to change the route. Then once on the straight flat? gravel roads, I decided to take a pic of the Windvogelberg, a landmark of note, when I hit a patch of corrugations. Bike went one way(and it's okay if anyone is worried, but the Bigwig takes more than a flat road spill to damage it) and I went the other way. The pic My knee was a mess. Ended up in surgery to clean the knee joint.
  15. Another Day of riding possible trails. This time day 2. The first 30km will be the same, but then the route will carry on downhill for a bit before climbing over the hill, crossing the gravel road and dropping down to the Bolo road. Up the Bolo road, and across the top of the Mgwali reserve and joining the route from last year at the Strauss sale pens, to the Kubusie valley.
  16. I rode to the kranzes at Morgs today to make sure the chaps marking the route know exactly where to send the bushcutters. Note to Fanie, no dobo[emoji23][emoji23], and we aren't doing the last sting in the tail to the Kei Mouth Golf club. We'll end on the kranzes. What a view for a finish[emoji57] Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
  17. Took a ride from Cathcart scouting my routes, and we found an amazing bit of jeep track. It will be used, and it will shorten the day. Also spoke to Pie shop Fanie. Maybe they can set up stall on the route[emoji23][emoji23]. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
  18. There is a bit of trekgang, far better though. Riding it Sat Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
  19. And the route for Day 3 and the Farmers Ride, pretty much finalised
  20. Last day to enter Comparison between 2018 and 2019 day 1 route. I've got our oldest rider, a legendary 80yo (he climbed Montagu Pass to celebrate his 80th), busy clearing the route around the Windvogelberg before Cathcart. edit: the route between Cathcart and Thomas River hasn't been finalized yet
  21. Just below BKB is bottle store, and below that is biltong shop
  22. Completely new route on Day one this year. We'll be going around the back of Cathcart, so as Fanie reminded me, you will be able to make a short 1500m detour to get one of the famous Cathcart Windmill pies. So for a little detour , you'll get a whole lot of goodness
  23. I've got a Mountain Reedbuck fillet in the freezer, I must try this with it.
  24. Sorry Slowbee.I cook the weekend meals for our family, and often when we get guests. Tonight was braai again, a recipe from Wendy Toerien's book "Cellarmasters in the Kitchen". A recipe from Paul Cluver's Andries Burger, also a cyclist btw. My version of his Grilled Kudu Fillet, with Beetroot and carrots and mash. Marinade the Fillet in red wine for 2 hours, roll in crushed pepper, coriander seeds and cumin. Braai the fillet to rare, slice and serve with veg, mash and a red wine reduction. Yum
