  1. I would be more worried if they got your birthdate right!!! Happy happy youngster
  2. I am sorry I have to miss out on this because of family vacation.... really bad planning on my wifes part- maybe next year - or later this year as a social ride with Eddy
  3. Not yet - still humming and hawing....
  4. Too easy - Foot Out/Flat Out.... of course - in line with my Strava addiction, these have cleats....
  5. Fixed it for you....
  6. Spez 2FO shoes..... to go with my Enduro and new full face helmet.....
  7. Yes - no idea if it works, but my local proctologist (ano/rectal surgeon) colleague recommends them (well not brand specific, but feet up anyway)
  8. come and spend an hour in my garage on the trainer and you will know your numbers... bike on trainer will be a close enough fit for you - might need to bring your own pedals
  9. I have some caliper brakes and a few other bits - will drop off next time I go past the bike park.
  10. - I like to ride with my Dad - he can go downhill just fine..... (ok - he straightlines a lot of corners...) but uphill is a bit of a battle for him (he gets there in the end, but feels bad about holding us up) He did manage to outlast me over the weekend bodysurfing - froze myself stupid in about 45min.... took him another hour to get out the water while I froze on the beach in the wind... the 80+ crowd can be tough.
  11. Lets plan something offline - perhaps a midweek sightseeing tour?
  12. Just think how much fun you can have on trails going uphill when you add 350w - Stefan was having so much fun you could not wipe the smile off his face - even after he clipped a tree... I think there is a place for them - especially for the older guys (80+) so they can keep up going uphill.
  13. Definately - just the wheels are more.... my build got to over 10k and I didn't even try that hard...
  14. I rode Stefan Sahms at the epic around the camp as a test - what a toy - so I call bs on walking once you have tried it...
  15. Fixed it for you....
  16. Tubes - what are those? Aside from my road bikes I have pretty much eliminated tubes now (1 26" to go still)
  17. They did leave the mechanicals in as a backup for emergencies (although how exactly you engage it is a mystery to me) .... clearly they don't have full confidence yet... Interestingly one of my mates has a forllift which has pretty much complete drive by wire everything - guess they don't think a forklift can do that much damage - but I can see the benefit of ultra light steering for a forklift driver after a long shift.
  18. Damn - 10k USD Evil.... ouch....
  19. How about in an Infiniti Q50's steering? Note to self - this is a bicycle forum....
  20. Is that downhill?
  21. Wheel speed sensors don't have wires? No wheel speed sensor wire = no ABS... but I am now taking my hat and coat and running....
  22. What about ABS? seems to me a few people could get benefit out of that.
  23. And yet you are happy driving a merc/bmw/porsche etc with this kind of tech in place? It was just a tounge in cheek comment - so ignore it.... I don't think they will want to do this on a bike because of the weight added for all the pumps etc needed - still - in a car you don't even notice it.
  24. True - has to go wireless.... then I am in..... Then we just need fly by wireless brakes too....
  25. I don't know - on a road bike - yes - makes cool buzzing noises.... and the auto alignment is pretty cool.. I have only ever ridden once in conditions so bad the rear would not shift - would it have worked - no idea -would I have gone faster if it had shifted - no idea - probably not.... would I have cursed less - probably not.... I would say in Gauteng conditions, probably not worth the extra spend - perhaps in the WC or NZ it might be - this does not of course stop me wanting it....
