  1. CWC, Ek haal my hoed af. .
  2. I think he is talking about that Gerhard Genis training ride (1 hour around the circuit) The point is, that he is telling motorist, "Dont worry, cyclist have a place to ride""
  3. ""Hayward said the association had been booking Tuesday evenings at Killarney race track for cyclists to train off the roads.""" Wat van die wat nie daar oefen? Wat van die wat nie net Dinsdae oefen. Jou statement skep die indruk by motoriste dat fietsryers wel 'n oefen plek het. Pleks dat jy standpunt inneem en motoriste daaraan herriner dat fietsryers wel die reg het om op 'n openbare pad te ry,
  4. Firstly: Yes, you can asked PPA to ""upseed"" you to the correct seeding, (without that mandatory 3 race rubbish) I know off a couple of Hubbers who got higher seedings just after the Durbanville ride . The PPA also wants the riders in the correct groups, but dont take changes, they can estimate on your results. The PPA knows that having strong riders down in the groups causes the snowball of becoming a big group towards the end of a race, so, if you deserve to get a higher seeding, send them a e-mail and tell them why . Woofie, yes, I did the DC with the Reeds MTB group (most of them belongs to the www.grannygear.co.za club).
  5. Reba race, with the pop lock Ek ry Reba Race SL met pop lock. popeye2009-11-30 08:14:17
  6. I stayed with the front guys, got some VB's I think and others , one group to the Line. I tried to get away on that second last hill, hoped that some 5 guys came with, but my legs was not good enough, the bunch caught me on the downhill. I also think that they would not allow me to slip away, they were watching me. I than sit in the bunch, and did not sprint. Just before the last hill I asked the guys to concentrate and that we are going to get the big downhill and to be carefull, the front guys in our bunch actually lean against each other, going over the mat. Almost a big crash, but they kept it up right. I sukkel a bit on Bosmanskop, maybe its some DC legs as well as riding the day before (with Fanie) to get my number and cycle yesterday from B'Fell to the event as well. So, all in all, I'm happy that I started in B. On Bosmanskop, about 10 guys got away, but we close the gap quickly on the other side leading into Malmesbury. Was very impressed with the girl who sat with us in the first 5, as well as 3 to 4 other guys who also helped a lot. The guy on the black and white cervelo, the Ironman guy, and the guys with the black and green kit, as well as those 2 youngsters who hang around in the front (ceres laaitie) I think I saw you, that grey kit with the red? Oh, and than after the race, I cycle back home as well, :-) All in all, I did 176km yesterday popeye2009-11-30 08:11:31
  7. Stoppie Lorrie. YOU HAVE 5 ROADS LEADING INTO THE NELSON CREEKS AREA. Malmesbury turnoff 1) Right at the Fruit seller 4 way 2) One higher up at the Silo's (bit of Gravel) 3) The one right onto the Landbou Skool The R45 towards Wellington The road from Paarl towards Wellington SO, Hou op *** en kerm, gebruik van jou "Hub"" tyd en kyk die roete op 'n vrydag sodat jy weet watse opsies jy het. As hulle nou die Burger cancel oor julle *** en kerm, dan kerm julle seker daaroor ook. Nie juis dat ons honderde races het om van te kies. word wakker.
  8. I totally agree. The only traffic on the road was riders who left it to ythe latest to get to the event. There is enough parking. I cycle to the event and at 5H40 when I started to get the ""cones"", I could not believe that there was no traffic, as I got closer to the start, i saw some back-up traffic, all trying to get into the wine farm. Now,, I also cycled back home and could not believe the amount of cars and how long the stretch of parked cars was. So, for me, to get there so late and moan and bitch about parking.. were will you park in Stellenbosch? if we have to start there? I think they need to keep the event at Nelsons, the only cars on our route was the bit between Malmesbury and the left turn. We had a almost car-free race, safe and a nice healthy Bosmankop Challange. Well done to the orginizers, very enjoyfull and great ride.
  10. I got the Phython Lights, pitty its so soft and dont last a lot of km's. so, its not for training. I got crossmarks on my training rims, solid, hard, heavy and punture resistant, specially commuting in and out to work. They are now toast, and like slicks, what is the cheapes UST tires to use for commuting.? Dont care about weight, etc, it must give plenty of commuting miles.
  11. Yes, I moved into Mike team. Brilliant, absolute brilliant. The best DC of my life. Our team did +- 8h02, All 12 was on mtb's with knobblies. The spirit in the team was the best, we all rode for each other. Our support crew was supper, we defnitally had the best :-) To Mike and Reeds , thanks for it, hope to ride next year again. I started to cramp on that hill just after Bonnievale, and the team went ahead, but it was a great ride.
  12. More dogter :-) ek gaan saam Reeds ouens ry.
So, altwee plekke kry juice. Lekker ry..
  14. Nice store, I just think there need to be a more colorfull sign outside, indicating something towards bicycles. If you dont know the exact spot, you can ride paas and miss it easypopeye2009-11-05 00:33:38
  16. Hello Oom H All it takes " Is one drop goal from Morne Steyn" :-)
  17. spot on tabasco.
  18. ok, my years was screwed up, I think 2006 was also in the 850+ range and 18000+ meters. I know the first one (2005 I think, was a shorty)popeye2009-10-28 00:56:25
  19. 3 night in ceres, 2 in woester, 2 in grabouw. I think its taking away the "woh factor" of the epic. time trail in the middle? who cares? only the racing teams care, the rest? its going to be a rest day. It will make the epic more do-able. In 2006 / 2007 it was 960km, almost 19000 meters climbing, But now? Double the entry fee, and 25% less Epic.
  20. Hy maak blykbaar klaar by CSA.
  21. He is not doing the Epic in 2010. He plan to ride the 2011 Epic. He talked about Levi teaming up for 2011 Epic I saw his interview on "Gillete, world of sport""
  22. enige perd kan join. Ek bevestig gou, maar ek dink dit is van nou Saterdag af 6H00.popeye2009-10-20 03:14:25
  23. Dont worry guys, a little birdie, voetsek and scooter heard through the grapevine that Racetec and Mr. Bellairs got some trouble with CSA. But as I say, its another voetsek and scooter story... zipp
  24. Some useless information.
