  1. That red expresso idea was quite lekker - well the mouthful that was left, after I blended the entire mixture out of the mug , was..... Oops....
  2. If anyone is making low carb bread or seed crackers it works quite nicely as a spread and with a sprinkle of cinnamon it's quite delicious.
  3. This is where u tell me u are from joburg but where do you find your grassfed suet? Also how does one make kaaiings? I did render fat once but my kraaings weren't a success....
  4. Well that is almost 10% carbs and if you take Tim Noakes' approach you should try and limit your carbs per item to no more than 5% You can factor it into you total carb count intake for the day if you have a total goal amount that you try and stick below, but I'm also with JCZA and say try and stick with real food. I don't imagine there is huge nutritional value in those shakes and the carbs are probably all derived from sugar. One can always make homemade shakes at home and take to work and leave in the fridge. Alternatively boiled eggs, cheese, biltong all make great snacks and no one says one has to eat 3 meals a day....
  5. Also Ride In at Jonkershoek but they hVe Specialized
  6. The guy who is the nutritionalist for 32Gi and some of their sponsored athletes ( incl last years Comrades winner) do LCHF and most things I read of late point to all of the advocates of this way of eating say that if you are doing an event then it is OK and even good to take in Carbs during the event. The sentiment seems to be listen to your body. I've just climbed back on the LCHF bandwagon this morning although I have been relatively low carb prior to Sani2C but a bit off the rails (ok a lot) since then so I anticipate carb flu of note this week For the record the only stats I have is that in the last year or so of being low Carb ( not always high high fat) most of the time I have stayed the same weight but have lost 6% body fat. Very importantly measure yourself before you start out - I have dropped a few clothes sizes.
  7. How big is a serving? And what is your LCHF goal? The problem with all the these "instant/ convenience" food is they contain a lot of other stuff that is bad for us. But I suppose it is up to each person which "train of thought" they choose to apply. If it works for you and produces results then go ahead.

  9. I missed Carte Blanche last night - does anyone know if the will post the clip to their website? It's not there yet.
  10. Holy Smokes! Heal up soon!
  11. Popped some into the account earlier this eve but it's std bank so dunno how long it will take to reflect.
  12. We met one on our drive back to CT. His saddle broke 15kms from the end on the last day!
  13. For me I'd say mostly dirt - roads and trails but some tar too.
  14. My original Spez tyres have around 5000kms on them. Might be a bit more - the bike had around 5500 before I changed the groupset. Not sure of exact tyre kms only cos I did switch in Fastrak tyres to ride Argus and kept one on as back tyre and switched the original back tyre to the front. They will prob still last me through winter and Rhino training.
  15. What's stopping them doing that now....?
  16. Was this the one on the Trail? Please tell me what made u go down - track looked clear
  17. Hope her knee recovers now that u have a few days to rest!
  18. Ouch! My stupid was speed. I hope for your sake the ribs are just bruised and will heal up quick sticks! Shew we met so many nice ppl on this event!
  19. Yes - a very exclusive Club!
  20. With u Ramrod - although I took a tumble yesterday so my roasties would protest. Driving back to Joeys today and luckily only having to tackle the CT drive in a few days. Had a great ride. Good weather, dry trails - which made for some interesting descending at speed in some places. Luckily the fall was at 10kms to the end so could limp home ok. Lots of people battled on the bridge in the wind in the later arvie. Glad it wasn't in the ocean this time cos the tide was in. The organization was top notch once again- the food fantastic. My only real gripe was that at Jolivet the ladies had only 5 or 6 toilets. Double the amount of showers as last year but we still queued 10 deep for the bogs. A bit hesitant on the navigation thing for next year - half the time I couldn't see my Garmin Screen so knowing me I would get lost. But I think come september I would be hard pressed to say no Pic just after the finish - the damage is well concealed but goes to show how tough Lycra is and thanx to Anatomic they can repair the damage with out me having to replace the entire bib.
  21. Trail
  22. Or perhaps grow a bit shorter! Don't be nasty....
  23. Pity you guys are only at the race - unless we missed your stand. Need to pick up a cable from you
  24. I booked men's sizes last year - thinking they didn't have women's specific stuff.... Then decided I preferred the men's jacket and switched the sizes and stuff I wanted in Men's at the end last year in the life saving offices swop shop that they had.
  25. Oxter seeing as u don't have to drive so far today why are u awake so early?!
