  1. For a European something important to consider is safety can you live with it. Not sure which city or town you live in. Most europeans are use to be able to go and cycle on their own, whenever keen , is it dark no problem set of lights and of into the bush on your MTB. South Africa in most locations sadly doesn't work like that. Just something to think of are you willing to give up these privileges with as a tradeof good climate and stunning vieuws? I am Northern Europe based and raised lived in western cape for about 8 months in 2003- 2004 went vback on holiday last year. Its a wonderfull experience but realize its a lot give and take. Africa you will either dislike it a lot or fall in love On cycling stuff, well I graduated on this price differences are shocking although not so high anymora as 4-5 years ago but still quite a bit more expensive. So do stock up and let family bring packages when they visit. In 2004 a locally sourced big blade was the same frice as big small blade and chain together in Europe. Things have improved but don't be surprised to pay 20% 30% more on many items. Also stock is a problem if it ain't in stock move on or let it be send to you fom europe. Never believe them if they say we will get it for ya as they either can't, won't bother or will take a long time to deliver(its sad but often the truth).
  2. Go watch one in belgium over there the crowds are bigger . Maybe around christmas always hectic as most are on holiday or the world champs as they are just a few k' from the border. Although I liked it better 5 years ago when the crowds where smaller in those days you could get better spectating spots and switch between them.
  3. Have a day or two? Long long stories They are team mates. Guy in front once betrayed his country so that guy in the back became world champ let say gift time was over one day and guy at the back wasn't happy with it
  4. my favourite bottles of beeer come with similar warnings' date=' although duvel's only around the 10% mark [/quote'] Belgian beers are just like Belgian hills, when compared to their Dutch counterparts: They have higher percentages, are slightly rougher, you can handle less of them in one go and boy, do you remember them the day after! Oh, and they are talked about and longed for all over the world. ja, you gotta worry about a country that has a beer called delirium tremens!i can't imagine trying to wobble home over the cobbled muur de hoy after a night on the p!ss! Its huy and that one ain't cobbled. Geraardsbergen is te one that's cobbled, used to be in my back yard and still am member of a club that has its base on that piece of nightmare.
  5. What about shipping overseas? possible? costs? AHve some addresses in Europe will have one in the Middle east shortly

  7. Maybe you should consider he crashed on and damdged that shoulder bedly so he wasn't to keen on the tapping on it with the mike. He should have made the guy eat his mike.
  8. we all bored you little lem again?
  9. that was the replay you saw, there was quite some footage
  10. You're missing the point here Mud Dee, I'm not for one moment denying that Chris won SA's or contesting that his victory is either worthy or not, I'm merely responding to an incorrect statement made that 1. Chris is not a wheelsucker, and 2. that had he been racing in the big races up in Gauteng, he would have kicked serious ass, and then pointing to the facts of the matter at hand at SA's to substantiate... Cruxie, Maybe check the guys past results once?? I had the pleasure of racing with him. One one occasion his team teamed up with mine for a Team time trial well on that day Chris and only chris powered us to victory. If he's fit he's bloody strong, just in the days didn't have the real race intelligence. He rides among the best of cape Towns Elite and kick's all their ass from time to time. Seems you didn't know him and still sad he gave your boys a good beating YOUR ERROR YOUR PROBLEM
  11. Silver medal - Mens Omnium Sweet used to be one of my kids when I was a coach
  12. Don't know which crowd you got but on junior track world in belgium a couple op moons ago there where maybe 100-150 spectators in the venue on weekdays. Pro worlds Palma de Mallorca 5000 seats final with local hero(lives 35k from track as a favorite well about 4000 spectators though we did kill the roof of the Place. Most other days 2000 spectators pro event that is.
  13. Cavendish?? Hammond?? Hunt no use on this course for sprint cannons or bulky classic boys. LLoyd?? Hope you don't mean Matthew Lloyd cos he's from OZ Downing? Trackies
  14. Sauser started sprint in the middle of the road with Paulissens front wheel already next to his back wheel and then they end up with not enough room to pass??? Sauser moves in quite hard and a bit further finishes its of with a smaller move. Thoes this happen a lot? yes Do some get away with it? yes is it illegal?? definitely
  15. Here we go again... such a deep revelation... It is funny how often he is involved in crashes... Yes' date=' he can climb but does he get nervous with all the riders around him? I wish him a speedy recovery[/quote'] The guys bike handling skills are equal to those of a 75 year old thannie with parkinson and a papzak habit
  16. Looks like the Barloworld HSBC articles in 2003 I used to laugh my ass of with those. Splendid performance by HSBC rider coming 3d but the race was won by a rider from France police yes an oak with a fulltime day job. and so on
