  1. That looks amazing! And under R40k? Aw damn.. So close, yet so far.. The cages are an interesting concept. Would like to get some feedback on how they work when you start riding her
  2. If I could afford it, of course I would!
  3. Ok, I know you're not in Cape Town, but these links are just for reference. I'd go for a SLX cassette and chain set-up. SLX chain SLX cassette Or you could also consider these Deore chain HG62 cassette I guess ask you LBS for prices and what they think. Both these guys will also ship to Pretoria though.
  4. Don't look at it too long. It'll crack. Jokes aside, that's a really nice saddle too
  5. A wise man once said, may all your ups and downs now only be in bed. Congrats on the wedding!
  6. Yeah that is a really nice saddle!
  7. Fondriest TF3 1.2 8.4 kg total weight (yes, that's quite a lot. VERY heavy groupset) Managed to only pay About R19000 including a wheel upgrade to American Classic Victory 30 R2261.90/ kg
  8. Saw one of those at the garage at the end of the Bottelary road the other day. Beautiful bike.
  9. Sorry if this is a bit redundant, but I found an interesting, if very short article on repairing carbon frames. I didn't know that frames could be repaired to such an extent. http://www.bicycling.com/maintenance/repair-maintenance/resurrection-calfees-carbon-frame-repair
  10. I just realized... I bought two Specialized bottle cages a week ago. Damn
  11. Yeah I thought so too... It was a real shame for me, because I am a HUGE Adidas fanboy. (let the flaming commence). I have a pair of old Adidas MTB shoes, which are my prized possession. I found a pair of road shoes as well the other day. They were too small for me sadly I gave them to a friend of mine... I wish they fit me... Damn. Anyway, i can't seem to find the stuff online anywhere. It's not on the Adidas SA website. I'm also struggling to find the exact clothes I saw in the shop. Like they never existed.. But I **** you not, I was looking at them in the Adidas sport shop in Canal Walk this morning. I think they're the ones on the cover of this month's Bicycling. Anyway, as a bit of Adidas trivia, it seems they made a shoe! http://www.theradsport.com/specialized-and-adidas-collaborate-on-cycling-shoe/ Would've loved a pair of those...
  12. Has anyone checked out the new Adidas cycling range? I was looking at the bibs earlier and the AdiStar (which is the top of the range) was R3000! They were nice, but not R3000 nice... I think you could nicer shorts like Assos or Nalini or Santini etc. for half the price. Rant over
  13. Well there we go
  14. This whole thing sucks man.. I had a crack in my seat tube on my 2012 Fondriest TF3. Bought it at CWC. Showed Chris jr the crack and he immediately told me to take the bike to the shop for a replacement. No questions asked. Got a brand new TF3 1.2 2013 model. The workshop at CWC took almost 2 weeks to build my bike though.. But other than that, very happy. I also think stuff like that should be covered in the warranty. Although, I do understand where they are coming from. If you over tighten that stuff, it will break, and that's not their fault. It is clearly labeled to what torque the clamps and things on your bike should be tightened. Anyway, I haven't really said anything of value there, but oh well. Best of luck with the bike!
  15. It's quite something if I manage to stay upright
  16. I think it's a good price though, so if the shipping is not too expensive, will it be possible to just rebuild the back wheel with a road hub? If it's to be used on a road frame ofcourse
  17. Those Espresso wheels are almost R800 cheaper than the Aerofix ones Edit:Sorry.. That's for the rim only.. Wasn't payng attention
  18. Hey guys! I'd maybe like a set as well. Will you keep me in the loop about shipping costs and hub specs etc. as well?
  19. What a man.. Not many like him
  20. The thread Blockman was talking about: https://community.bikehub.co.za/topic/128087-which-is-your-favourite-value-for-money-bib-poll/
  21. That's a hot bike
  22. Where did you have the shorts made, Clinton?
  23. Those wheels look amazing! Thanks Gummibear
  24. I haven't seen anyone using the Nalini's, so here goes: I personally don't have much experience with high-end bibs like Assos or Castelli or Santini or Craft etc, so take this with a pinch of salt. I used to ride with Cape Storm and First Accent because they were cheap. I found the Cape Storm to be really comfortable, But not for extremely long rides. I found that the next day I was very uncomfrtable on the bike, even when wearing the same shorts. So I then moved over to First Accent and for the first couple of short rides it wasn't bad, but I was immediately disappointed on the first long ride. It's almost like the top half/straps of the bib are too short and then the shorts part REALLY ride up... They caused massive discomfort to my gentlemen's area. My training partner has mentioned the same thing about First Accent bibs. As mentioned above, I also only use them for really short trail rides, NEVER on my long road rides anymore. I also own a CWC kit, but the rubber around the legs is pretty useless.. After 5mins of riding, it looks like I'm riding in a pair of undies. But relatively comfortable for the price I suppose. I also own a Merrel bib purchased at Due South. Overall a comfortable bib and in my opinion, a very nice looking kit. Slight issues are: Pad is a little too big, so if you shift around too much, it gets a bit uncomfortable. The elastic around the legs are a bit too tight, but they are survivable. Anyway, on to the Nalini's. In the middle of last year I bought a pair of Nalini Corniola bib shorts on recommendation from a friend. It was just around the time Evobikes opened I think. I was immediately impressed. Even though it's the entry level of their higher quality bibs, it's still a great fit. It fits snug around your legs, but not too tight. The pad is the right sizes and not big and bulky. The cut is a bit odd (meaning the top half I guess), but I soon got used to it. My training partner has 2 or 3 pairs of the Nalini Lambro bibs and he cannot stop raving about them. My next purchase is a couple of pairs of the Nalini Chiolite bibs. I definitely also want to try the Pearl Izumi's, as I've read very positive comments about them in this thread. I personally think for the prices of the Nalini bibs at Evobikes and given that I am only 22 years old and my ass can handle a bit more than all the old men here, I am sticking to my Nalini's and not even thinking twice a bout paying ridiculous money for Assos or something similar. Having said that, if I am fortunate enough to still be cycling another 20 years down the line, and earn a massive salary, I'll give them a go. If any one is interested to have a look at the bibs I talked about, here are some links: Nalini Chiolite (very nice looking shorts in my opinion) Nalini Corniola Nalini Lambro
  25. That really is a beautiful bike Eric. There's something about black and red that just, I dunno.. Makes me all warm and fuzzy inside Here's my ride She only has 105 on at the moment. I would LOVE to be able to upgrade to at least Ultegra or Force, but such is life. http://img849.imageshack.us/img849/8894/t25e.jpg
