  1. Riebeeck Valley MTB Yesterday http://s12.postimg.org/u964vef3x/IMG_1215.jpg
  2. I had a lovely ride on the road this morning.
  3. Mine was also a Deda stem. Maybe it's a Deda thing? Anyway, I also went for the integrated system afterwards. Got myself a FSA Plasma
  4. http://www.cwcycles.co.za/catalog/parts/shift-lever-hoods I think the Dura Ace hoods might fit your 105 and they have Campy hoods as well.
  5. Happened to me once. Also at about that speed, but luckily I was coming to the end of a descent and only one bolt snapped, so no crash. Thank goodness. All the best to your friend. Hope he heals up quick.
  6. Yeah all cyclists suck
  7. Ok I'm not really sure just how much I should share here, but I'm gonna say some stuff anyway. I work at a bike shop. Quite a large bike shop. On the issue of the tubeless conversion, we NEVER do free conversions, simply because 90% of bikes do not come as standard with tubeless tires and that is what i think happened here. I've heard numerous horror stories of people telling me: "Well I can get a free tubeless conversion at shop A or B" and it always ends up the same. We don't do free conversions simply because we'd lose at least R600 on a tire and we will under no circumstances try and do a halfarsed job just to get a sale. If the other parts of the conversion was done correctly, you should've had no issues with the nipples corroding etc. So either the mechanic had no idea what he was doing, or you have had some REALLY bad luck. I'm not sure I'm sold on the corrosion story. With regards to the wheel/s they built for you, that seems like another story in itself. I find it very strange that they have no one in their shop who can build a wheel properly. We have at least 3 in our shop. Maybe that is something they should look at. Not to be rude, but if you are a big guy, maybe you should do a little more research when looking at wheels and stuff. I know it's already been mentioned, but people at bike shops can say whatever they want to a customer to get a sale. Especially customers who know very little about what they're buying. It's sad, but it's true. Doing some research on a product (especially an expensive one like a bike or wheelset) will only do YOU good. I will feel absolutely no different if a customer I'm selling something to knew what he was talking about. In fact, I'd be the first to admit that one or two of my customers have taught me a lot. I understand that us who employed and make a living with the knowledge we have of cycling should always be able to help, but we're only human. But should I not be able to help someone, I can confidently say as a collective, in our shop we have more than enough knowledge to be able to help someone. Anyway, I hope some of my rambling helped a little or at least gave a little perspective.

  10. Saw this at Woodstock Cycleworks. Sorry for the bad picture quality. Took them with my phone http://s9.postimg.org/tyopg4pz3/IMG_1195.jpg http://s9.postimg.org/5d2sbzhxb/IMG_1196.jpg
  11. All the assholes who used to be on the road are now taking up this new MTB fad. That's why there is always **** at MTB races and on trails and such. The good thing is though, now that most of them are riding MTB's, people out on the road are a lot nicer.

Stuff like this grosses me out so much.. All the best to the little guy though. I would've been in a much worse state if that happened to me!
  13. I doubt either of those two would be taken over by Omnico. Cool Heat and Cape Cycles are rather big companies in their own right. As for the Crank Brothers thing, Omnico was approached by CB, not the other way around. Bicicletta was extremely difficult to work with and very rarely had stock. I personally think it's a good thing that Omnico now have control over Crank Brothers. Just my 2c.
  14. Got myself some new wheels. Vision TC50 tubbies. http://s18.postimg.org/z6fav4xa1/IMG_1178.jpg
  15. Totally knew that...
  16. Worked 100% Thanks!

  18. VERY good prices on there!
  19. Looks like badass fork!
  20. Kinda like the Ritchey C260 stem? Note the bolts are not positioned at 180 degrees, but in this case at the 260 degree mark. http://ritcheylogic.com/media/catalog/product/cache/7/image/9df78eab33525d08d6e5fb8d27136e95/w/c/wcs-carbon-matrix-c260-gloss-ud-stem.jpg
  21. Thanks for the info. Do you by any chance have a link to the Facebook page? I could only find a motor racing page.
  22. Is there anywhere I can get some more info on this?
  23. Chris Willemse Cycles and Cycle Lab Tyger Manor. I've seen them at both stores. But I'm pretty sure you can get them at just about any bike shop.
