  1. I think you misundertand - by next week I didn't mean the 94.7... Think out the box now Bruce, you know you can do it..
  2. Why your last season ? Where ya goin ? I am sure you are gonna have a great 94.7 - the old TooHot back form the past to wreak his terrible revenge on all the doubters.. (sh*t, I am beginning to sound like you...)
  3. Well MW you are obviously the expert in league racing so I guess we will just have to leave it at that.. Bikemax are you sure you're quoting the right post dude. Sarcasm is only any good if you use it wisely. My inexperience at league racing has nothing to do with what Marius says after a race. In Marius' own words: "Ek ry flatout en ek breek nie eens weg van die SV bunch af nie dude!". I think Marius is the only expert at how well he is really doing in SV. Yes, on that we can agree - which is why I find it strange that it is you posting about his racing more than he is. He has taken a pragmatic approach and accepted that he has work to do but is going to get there. You on the oher hand are keen to tell him he is simply out of his depth and that he will never get away in a break etc etc based on him telling you how hard the race was yesterday. Your inexperience is releveant because in fact it is very possible for a weaker rider to get away and due to the fact he is no threat, be allowed to stay away to the finish. Marius has the ability right now to do just that if the timing was right and the circumstances dictated. Of course he struggled yesterday - most of us did due to the fast start but that does not mean we are out of our depth (I don't think)

  5. Does Marius pay you extra for all this BS encouragement??? Or is it justs a perk for him gutting himself for the "BM" team??? It's called positive feedback and appreciation for his efforts. Try it somtime instead of all this negative stuff you spend all day sending out..
  6. MW - IMO getting a podium is not necessary to be considered a success in SV. Ironically however, riding for a team like Vineyard BikeMax is actually his best chance of getting a podium - just ask Fatty. By riding in the front and getting in the breaks, making the racing etc - not only do you get fitter and faster but you also find that one day you are in a break that stays away. On top of that it ensures you play a part and do not just sit in and try to survive in the pack - but that's a personal choice I guess each rider has to make
  7. I don't think that it has only been limited to this year. Nah' date=' it's only since Bikemax convinced Marius that he's League material, that his results has turned shocking. Before the Argus I was riding with Marius in the "FUN"-rides every weekend and we had lots of fun. He was riding very well and improving hand over fist. If Marius never makes it in league racing, it will not be because he did not try. That said, I think he's out of his league (excuse the pun) riding in SV. But he's still hopefull because Fatty and Bikemax keeps telling him that proper training will get him there.[/quote'] I don't think his results have been shocking at all - he has ridden well in a very tough league and it is easy to forget that it is his first season - any of you that have not ridden SV or other league may not realise how much harder it is than any of the seeded groups. He has also had to learn race tactics etc. Marius will make it in league racing because he rides with commitment and heart and gives it his all. He is by no means out of his league with these riders but has also had to sacrifice his chances of staying with the bunch on many occasions by working for the team.
  8. Kilo - how about adding something positive for a change ...
  9. Both good - plenty of threads about it over the past few months. I have ridden the GP4000 - pretty good IMO. Overall I would still go with Mich pro Race 2 or Vitt Open Corsa as faster tyres.
  10. I second that .. anything less than 100% will see you hurt in that league. Got to say Too Hot that I am not surprised you are getting hurt at the moment - you have missed a god few of the races this season I think - the only way to survive is to race consistently as well as get the training right. Hope to see you back some time - by the look of that lead A/B group yesterday it ain't gonna be a walk in the park for you there either. I have to agree with you on that! That A bunch was not hanging around, although by that time I was already mentally beat. You hung in well up hells with them, which is very impressive cos those youngsters weigh like 2kg Thanks for all the support though. I think i will stick to funrides every now and then. Ciao for now Thanks TH - I was actually shelled by the front guys about half way up and then was on my own until the lead vets break caught me after the climb and I got a ride to the finish. Keep well.

  12. Thanks Linnega / Fanie Underwd - we have some great online options and can certainly help. Mail me at peteratbikemax.co.za
  13. Not a good race for me - that start saw me at over 300w for 19 mins - first 5 mins was higher than the pace I normally do 5 min intervals at Ugly.
  14. I have a soft spot for bad 80's music - must be the memories!! From glam rock to new romantic! What about 2 tone - did you get that over here.. The Specials, the Beat etc ? Ah, the memories...
  15. You can do a 20km TT at BikeMax on a Power Tap equipped PT300 - very accurate. PM if you want to book it.
  16. Yes' date=' you must be very careful of these coaches, they are wolves dressed up in sheeps clothing. They motivate you to ride harder, then when you improve your numbers they raise the bar and make you do it all over again as a reward!![/quote'] Things can always get worse....
