  1. yeah, agreed. Hope that person got corrected. EDIT: Seems we're all wrong, and it now is gazzetted. This is the uncertainty we don't need.
  2. Yeah, there's no explicit distance, it just stipulates metros, districts and provinces. If this doesn't mean what I think it means, then cool. But as far as I understod it, travel between neighbourhoods / districts etc wasn't allowed. EDIT: COCT is a single district. Therefore she was within her rights, in terms of the regulations.
  3. https://www.gov.za/documents/disaster-management-act-regulations-29-apr-2020-0000 Movement of persons 16. (1) Every person is confined to his or her place of residence. (2) A person may only leave their place of residence to-- (a) perform an essential or permitted service, as allowed in Alert Level 4; (b) go to work where a permit which corresponds with Form 2 of Annexure A, has been issued; © buy permitted goods; (d) obtain services that are allowed to operate as set out in Table 1 to the Regulations; (e) move children, as allowed; (f) walk, run or cycle between the hours of 06H00 to 09H00, within a five kilometre radius of their place of residence; Provided that this is not done in organised groups (3) Every person is confined to his or her place of residence from 20H00 until 05H00 daily, except where a person has been granted a permit to perform an essential or permitted service as listed in Annexure D, or is attending to a security or medical emergency . 4. Nah, man. Not a high horse. Just amused that someone is astonished at it all when they deliberately break the guidelines and get caught out. EDIT: COCT is a single district. Therefore she was within her rights, in terms of the regulations. No longer amused, now.
  5. https://www.iol.co.za/personal-finance/things-to-consider-when-selling-your-assets-to-a-trust-24839164 Market value Selling your assets to a trust at less than market value in an attempt to minimise the loan amount is not a good idea, as it will have the following unintended consequences: * You will be liable for donations tax on the difference between the market value and the sale price of the asset. * Any income apportioned to this difference will be taxed in your hands until the day you die, in terms of the anti-avoidance provisions of section 7(9) of the Income Tax Act. If any “connected person” sells assets to a trust at less than market value, from a tax perspective, the transaction would be deemed to take place at market value and the actual values at which the assets were sold can be substituted by Sars with market values (paragraph 38 of the Eighth Schedule to the Income Tax Act).
  6. CAVEAT - depends on the way they were married and a coouple other things, but IMO lawyer time. Problem is that that still gives an injection of cash into the shared estate. If he spends it, the stuff he spends it on will be part of the shared estate. If he just blows it, then it's not. So you don't really achieve anything other than spite, in those situations. If he's transferred the company shareholding back to his dad specifically to avoid it being a part of the accrual process, he's in for a bit of a shock. I'd say that she has a good basis for arguing its inclusion. If he sold the business back to his father (which is what's actually happened) then the amount he'd sold it for would form part of the estate. If he sold it for a pittance, that's also an issue that could get him into a bit of trouble from a tax perspective. Even if he set up a loan account for the same value as his share, that would form part of the estate. https://www.divorcelaws.co.za/hiding-assets-divorce.html
  7. And? She went out and deliberately chose something far away from her residence and hoped she wouldn't get caught out. Why shouldn't she have been fined? EDIT: Well, COCT is a single district. Therefore she was within her rights, in terms of the regulations, and I'm now of hte opinion that she could have that squashed.
  8. Oh, one more. The tolerances are ever so slightly tighter and the materials used slightly superior. So it feels more solid, too.
  9. I didn't like Charles to begin with, but watching his streams for the virtual GP's and other races I actually like the guy more and more. He's definitely talented, and he's DEFINITELY the future of Ferrari. Vettel shouldn't have moved from RB, IMO.
  10. Not a lot, but just enough to make a big diff in feel. More changes per press on the downshift (1 on deore vs 3? on XT) Metal thumb lever Smoother actuation (bearings vs bushings) It results in a slightly crisper & smoother feeling.
  11. ^^^ THIS Taking it on the chin may be difficult, but take some time to do some introspection. Those things you can do something about, make an action plan. Do one or two notable things each day to get yourself on the path to reducing that stress / anxiety by being proactive with those things you can change. Put the things you can't change up as challenges / obstacles to get around / adapt your planning to. What can you change to make the best of the situation? Maybe it's just one or two things. The Power Of Now is a great tool to help for the short-term targets, and to get the longer term ones going. Something bothering you? Deal with it now. Procrastinating only gets you more anxious because it's a task not yet completed. Taking time out inside your own brain is also a critical tool. If you're not comfortable with where YOU are, you'll never be entirely comfortable with what you're doing. Prod the bear. Not poke, just a prod. Grapple with that thing you're trying to overcome. Pick it apart. Ask the why / how / what / when / where. Play with it until you're comfortable with it, and can see an opportunity. Yes, stress impacts everything. But concentrating on those things you can't change pulls you down further. Concentrating on those things you CAN change, pulls you higher. Taken from my personal experiences.
  12. ATV isn't a duty, though. All it does is increase VAT from 15% to 16.5%. Duties are added before VAT & ATV are calculated. With bike parts, frames, any spare part for the use on a bicycle, there are no duties. It IS an extra tax, of sorts, but it's not a duty.
  13. One of these, but with a different model name. Think it was called a two-can or something. Useful for my parents to tell me if they were running late for school pickups / sports events etc.
  14. Yes, and spare parts are not dutiable items. Whether you're a distro or joe soap, it doesn't matter. They'll still pay VAT on the value of the shipment plus 10%, but spare parts do NOT attract duties.
  15. I had a beeper when I was 17, then I was upgraded to a 2110 in bright yellow later that year. 3110's and 3310's were the shiz. As were those Alcatels.
  16. No import duties on spares, mate. Just full bikes and apparel. And no, that's NOT the distro price, that's the suggested retail price. Yes, we could be screwed with the exchange rate (very likely) but your numbers are off.
  17. https://www.bikeradar.com/news/shimano-deore-m6100-12-speed/ The top-tier 12-speed Deore M6100 groupset is dedicated to a 1x setup. This is the first time 1x has been officially supported by Shimano at a Deore level.* The crankset (FC-M6100) is available with 30 or 32t chainrings, though the cranks use the same direct-mount spiderless chainring as all other 12-speed Shimano groupsets, so more options are available. Though it looks like the chainrings can be removed from the ‘spider’, these are not designed to be removed, and spares will not be available. The crankset is available in 170 or 175mm crank lengths and with the following chainline options: FC-M6100-1: 52.0mm chainline for 142/148mm standard/Boost hubs. 172mm Q-factorFC-M6120-1: 55.0mm chainline for 148mm Boost hubs. 178mm Q-factorFC-M6130-1: 56.5mm chainline for 157mm SuperBoost hubs. 181mm Q-factorAs expected, Shimano has stuck steadfastly with its longstanding HollowTech II design for the new groupset, and the crankset is only available with a 24mm spindle. Interesting tech aside, the new crankset looks great – it has a much more premium feel than the outgoing generation, in our opinion, and the glittery iridescent Deore logo is very handsome. *As a caveat to all of this, two non-series Deore-level 12-speed cranksets – the FC-MT610 and FC-MT510 – are also available. We assume these are intended to be used on bikes equipped with SLX and above 12-speed groupsets that are trying to hit a lower price point.
  18. Those aren't bolts. They're pins, made to look pretty. It's a DM crankset, but there's also a "normal" shiomano crank, like the SLX / XT non DM ones. The Deore M6100 12-speed crank features a direct-mount chainring and is available for single chainring use, only. The cranks feature a direct-mount chainring, but the chainring itself isn’t one-piece, but is rather two-pieces pinned.
  19. Yeah, but the wheels are a downgrade. Flow vs their Carbon rims. Only upgrade there is code RSC vs Guide R (downgrade bu8t also upgrade) and the fork (lyrik RCT3 vs Pike RCT3)
  20. I'm really glad we're at this stage of bike development, right now. The future advances should be very good, from where we are at the moment.
