  1. Had her since September. But I'm riding g spot on Friday arvo, and hopefully hoogekraal on Sunday morning... If you're keen.
  2. Haha... dude. I'm nowhere NEAR this things limit. But I love her all the same. She pushes me all the time.
  3. Yeah, I'm just not cut out for spuddies. I like the ability to position my feet as I want to.
  4. Wicked! Btw. Stoke have stock of the Giant flats. Give Droo a call to check pricing. They should he pretty well priced. Oh. And first upgrade - get yourself a Rapide 780mm bar. Just had my first ride on it after swapping the stock giant one out. It is OODLES stiffer than the stock giant one and will transform your steering. I didn't think my stock giant bar was exactly made of cheese, but OMG this Rapide bar has blown me away, yet again.
  5. starting at full bike price of $4,599 according to the article here: http://www.pinkbike.com/news/santa-cruz-hightower-first-ride-2016.html Tell me again why SC aren't bringing in full bikes!? Oh yeah - Dragons Sports hold the agency. LOL. But still - at that price, it's cheaper than the respective Giant Trance at the same kit spec. Killer. Giant Trance Advanced 1 is $ 5,000. Full XT & Fox 34 vs GX & Pike, but the Giant has their composite wheelset. But - we'll likely get the frame only, for $ 2,899. Which still makes it a "boutique" item. Come on, Dragons. Bring the full bikes in. You'll se a LOT more sales!
  6. No, false. Only if it happens in the period between acceptance and when the policy comes in to force. For example - if I apply for cover now, but stipulate a start date of 1 March. I go for meds, get accepted tomorrow at normal rates, no exclusions, and for all intents and purposes am "on cover" - if I'm involved in a car accident before 1st March and lose my leg, I need to inform them as it happened BEFORE the policy came in to force. The policy will have to be re-issued, as my health has changed before the start date of the cover. Most companies have what they call "immediate cover" whereby, if I am accepted without loadings or exclusions, I get a certain amount of disability or life cover, which is limited to (I think) R400k INCLUDING any other cover that you have in place at that time... As for health events after the start date of the policy, the only thing you'll miss out on is a potential claim. What you DO have to disclose is any change to your particulars ie: income, occupation and smoking status, as that affects your risk profile on your existing cover, and may result in you no longer qualifying for occupational disability, or income protection or having an occupational loading due to the risk of your particular job. Likewise with any hazardous pursuits. Health wise, it only matters at policy inception or when you are increasing your cover. Having said that, I don't know why you'd not want to tell the company or broker about a disease or disorder that you have had diagnosed, as it may trigger a claim payment.
  7. yeah, after the fact is fine. Can't do anything then, and it could be used as the basis to log a claim on an existing policy, depending on what is highlighted. After all, you can't disclose what you don't know, can you? And a life policy is granted / approved on the person's health status at the time of application, not at the time of claim. So post-policy investigation is fine. Just don't expect to be able to amend / increase your cover if they find something!!!
  8. yeah, there were problems just after the announcement, due to the SEACOM and other cables having a drastic failure. Took about 3 or 4 days to work properly again. Since then, no problem at all...
  9. no, there's a different one. It was featured on a Grey's Anatomy episode (don't ask) and it has a circular arm (like a doughnut) that goes back and forth. Not like the cave on a "typical" CT / MRI machine... http://www.scanforlife.co.za/
  10. Fixed. either 29 or 275 Plus. Plus version comes with 2.8 Maxxis treads and a 150mm Pike instead of the 140mm on the 29er
  11. Santa Cruz Hightower... http://www.pinkbike.com/news/santa-cruz-hightower-first-ride-2016.html http://ep1.pinkbike.org/p5pb13112616/p5pb13112616.jpg
  12. Except when you go for a full body scan. Never, EVER do that. You WILL find something wrong with you (clogged arteries or any other such thing) even if you were "perfectly healthy" Client went for one of those full body scan jobbies. He was the model client, perfect cholestorol, perfect weight, no prior health problems, perfect glucose levels, everything 100% for cover. Went for one of those scans. Identified buildup of cholestorol in his arteries. Now he can't get cover. And he can't not disclose, as that is material non-disclosure and could result in a declined claim when it comes to that time.
  13. Watering the trees in lower Tokai (one jo-jo tank at a time) as well as alien pulling, clearing etc.
  14. That's exactly the plan. The system has been running in the UK through Starbucks and a couple of other providers for more than 2 years now, and they've seen a dramatic uptick in exercise and healthy eating, JUST as a result of the short term rewards that they're offering. It's saving them millions in claims, and gets people to be more responsible with their overall health. It's here to stay. The rewards may change over time, but the system works. Short term incentives are far more attractive for the average consumer than annual and 5-yearly paybacks and other discounts. Essentially, the majority of us are short-term thinkers, and want things NOW. That's what the interwebs and the culture of instant information has changed us to...
  15. Orange Four. A 120mm travel (rear) trail monster. Looks like a 140mm fox 34 at the front. http://ep1.pinkbike.org/p5pb13126229/p5pb13126229.jpg
  16. Agreed. And VR isn't normally super fast in these scenarios, so he must be feeling good to be in 2nd place... Really, REALLY looking good.
  17. It happens from time to time. I know the website was experiencing a few issues today. Just carry on trying.
