  1. hahahaha haha! Edit: Oh damn. I get exactly what you're saying, and know exactly why you deleted it. We need to get those funds coming in as much as possible. ALL donors are welcome, regardless of the amount donated. It all counts.
  2. Ja, that's debatable though. What's not debatable is that they are FAR better than those flippin crates that were there!
  3. mainly rebuilding the existing manor house and then also the coffee shop, with additional services. besides. at the moment It's a plantation. and the offices at Chapmans are a pretty fantastic example of the fusion of architecture and natural areas.
  4. hope you're wrong as well, but then in the same breath I really agree with Dawid on this issue. And the road in there is SHOCKING. Funding for trails is already going to come through private avenues, and if the infrastructure is developed at tokai itself it benefits ALL, not just a small segment of the potential visitor numbers that an improved infrastructure and access route could allow.
  5. You don't think that perhaps by that stage, Rachel was just that much more tired than Manon? Making htose sort of mistakes is out of character for her...
  6. Hahaha! It's statements like these that let you remember the level of ignorance surrounding top level DH riding and competition. Pottie (Johann Potgieter) is faaaaarking fit and strong. Built lean and mean through intensive training and exercise. And he battles to qualify on the world circuit cos there are guys that train faster and harder than he does, or, rather, can afford to train harder and faster cos they have the financial backing. Take the guys and girls and what they do before the race runs, for example. Regularly doing intervals in their warmup sessions on their IDT and roller setups. DH is not just about skill anymore. You now have to be super fit to be at the top of the leader board. which is why Atherton lost out to Manon Carpenter this time around. She just couldn't put the power down where it mattered, but she smoked Manon everywhere else.
  7. Yeah. I remember the initial interview with the head designer on why they had chosen to ditch the sixer at the last moment, when the project was for all intents and purposes 90% complete. I remember them saying that they couldn't feel any tangible difference in the 2 sizes, for the type of riding it was designed for. But they opened it up to the forums and from the responses realised that if they DIDN'T go 650, they'd be losing a lot of potential clients and existing clients as the movement was that large. Essentially the move was dictated by the client rather than any tangible improvement in performance. loved that interview
  8. Anthem. It's a far more versatile bike, and a far better suspension platform that doesn't need to be locked out in order to climb properly.
  9. On the contrary.... Their 5010 was originally going to be a sixer, until they saw market sentiment move as a sort of watershed towards 650b. They were one of the LAST guys to go 650. They are marketing it, for sure... but not the way the rest of them are. They're concentrating on the BIKE not the wheel size.
  10. Or as Nige says... Duran's a bit out of the loop at the moment thanks to a hand injury, but he's also a lekker oke to ride with.
  11. Take him to Dan Dobinson at iRide Africa. Bliksemse vinnig rider and an all round awesome chap. Then when Pottie gets back, he generally hosts some skills sessions in Tokai, Contermans & Jonkers. But for the moment - Dan is your man.
  12. How thin is a coke can? may be able to use that as a shim.
  13. Another one of those obsolete standards. my wife's bike runs a 30.6 or something. Mark's old bike ran a 26.8mm
  14. Ah... they're different pedals.i went for the Nano Tech option cos it has more pins around the outer edges - where my big feet need them
  15. But for leogang... i dunno who would take it. Moto would LOVE the all open sections, but there's also sooooo much tech stuff. You'd need to go up against one of the extreme Moto Enduro legends...
